Supernatural Prose: Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr

Yes, I have noticed that my first three postings (this one is obviously included) have stayed within the Young Adult or Teen category. What can I say? There are a lot of really good choices in these aisles now-a-days. To go along with the "widget" I posted earlier, today's recommended title is

For Aislinn, there have always been three rules.
Don't STARE at invisible faeries.
Don't SPEAK to invisible faeries.
Don't ever ATTRACT their attention.

Seems fairly straight forward right....think again. If you are gifted with the SIGHT, you have the unfortunate ability to clearly see faeries for who they, what they are, and bear witness to all the mischievous things they do. Aislinn, as well as her mother and grandmother before her, has this gift. She has fought with it all of her life for as long as she can remember. Appearing normal when you have an eyewitness view to another world is certainly harder than it seems, but the time has come for these two worlds to collide. Keenan, the Summer King, has been seeking out his long lost Summer Queen for many centuries for without her reappearance, his season will surely die out. His mother, Beira, is the Winter Queen and nothing would make her happier than to squelch the last ray of sunlight from her son's court, for if he finds his Summer Queen, her reign and reach will come to an end. Does Aislinn stand a chance against the intent of a King? What about her newly admitted feelings for Seth, the friend on whom she can truly depend? Not to mention Donia, the Winter Girl, who holds allegiance to no one as she follows her part in the game and yet still harbors feelings for her "lost" love...

Filled with action, magic, a love triangle (maybe square?), and ever continuing battle between what's right, what's easy, and what's wrong, I'd definitely recommend this book to young and old alike.

Until next time...happy reading!
