Taste Testing Tuesdays (22)

Good morning (or whatever time it is where you are), everyone!
Welcome to another installment of Taste Testing Tuesdays!
Taste Testing Tuesdays was inspired by 'Teaser Tuesdays', a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading
This week's post was delayed one day due to a review for a funtastic new book for readers of all ages that just hit stores yesterday....but just because there was a delay, doesn't mean we shouldn't sample a few good books!
On the menu this week ... a little bit of this and a little bit of that.  Honestly, being under the weather, I haven't had a chance to read a lot (seems strange, but seriously...have been sleeping away the hours) so this week's "samples" are from the two books that I'm almost reached their end, but not quite.
Let's have a taste, shall we?

Full diaper.  Those were the words that flew to mind when Lucy tried on the monstrosity of a dress that arrived by messenger to her door just three hours before the Vanderbilt gala.  -- pg 21, The Overnight Socialite by Bridie Clark

She was whispering, so I had the phone pressed hard against my ear.  I imagined her turned away from where everyone else was, curled around the secret of our conversation in a house at the beach where the air outside smelled like breeze and the air inside was all damp towels and little-boy screams and clumps of sand.  -- pg 60, House of Dance by Beth Kephart

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
*Grab your current read
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Until next time....happy reading!
From Rachel Caine's Fade out, book 7 in The Morganville Vampire series (I haven't read any of them before now)
pg 197 There were some bones. She didn't think these were human, though that was probably wishful thinking.
It was the first sentence that I laid my eyes on...a bit grisly!
