In My Shopping Bag (42)

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren.
Through her guidelines, your post does not actually have to be named the same and thus my post shall be..."In My Shopping Bag".  (just fits with the "foodie" theme a bit better in my humble opinion)
Normally this post would be seen on a Monday here on the site, but we were celebrating the arrival of a great new book (*cough* Karma Bites *cough) yesterday and so TADA...the post was backed up one day.  No worries, next week should be back on track.
Let's take a peek inside my shopping bag from this past week....

For Review

Astra by Chris Platt
Suspect by Kristin Wolden Nitz
(courtesy of Erin at Peachtree Publishers)
Gotta love unexpected book treasures.  These two are in advance of their publication date, which happen to be September and October respectively.  They certainly sound like interesting reads....we shall see.  Thanks, Erin!

Dewey's Nine Lives by Vicki Myron (ARC)
+ bookmark & poster
(courtesy of Carrie at Dutton, A Member of Penguin Group USA)
This charming sequel (of sorts) to the original "Dewey" book comes out this October...but I can't wait to delve into the further stories of this adorable cat with a "tail" to share.

Richard Wright and the Library Card by William Miller
Yasmin's Hammer by Ann Malaspina
+ bookmark
(courtesy of Hannah at Lee & Low Books)
Two books that show just how powerful the ability to read truly is!  Confession...I read the first one the same night it came in.  It may be a picture book, but it's very moving.  Will be reading the second one soon...

Crusade by Nancy Holder and Debbie Viguie (ARC)
(courtesy of author Nancy Holder and publisher Simon and Schuster)
Okay...I admit it!  As soon as this came in the mail, I couldn't resist to peek inside despite my current multiple books in reading right now.  Yep, after the intro....I'm hooked.  Can't wait to read more!

Greek:  Double Date by Marsha Warner
(courtesy of Tricia at Meryl L. Moss Media Relations, Inc.)
This is one of those shows that's a guilty pleasure of mine...even when I have to play catch up with it.  No doubt this one should be fun....

Won

Citizen Mitten by William Voedisch
(via contest from Nicole at Tribute Book Reviews & Giveaways)
YAY!  This looks like a great story about a cat and his person....can you tell I'm a fan of not only YA and fiction, but pet oriented books too?  ^_^

Think of a Number by John Verdon (ARC)
You may or may not recall I actually received an ARC of this book a month or so ago but that one is a different edition than this.  It will be interesting to see just what changed between one ARC and the next besides the cover.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That's all for this week!
What did YOU get?
Do tell!
Until next time....happy reading!
Awesome inbox! I didn't know there was a sequel to Dewey, I will definitely have to check it out when its released.
I won a copy of Double Date, and absolutely can't wait to read it. Love the Greek show so much!
Aww, enjoy the tales of the Mitten - sorry for the long delay in getting it to you - my Mom wanted to read it first :)
