Taste Testing Tuesdays (51)

Good morning (or whatever time it is where you are), everyone!
Welcome to another installment of Taste Testing Tuesdays here at Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers!  Taste Testing Tuesdays was inspired by 'Teaser Tuesdays', a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading
On the menu this week ... one book that's been discussed off and on in the blogosphere recently, a second that I'm working my way through finally, and a third I simply couldn't resist starting.
Ready for a taste?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I don't know.
Maybe sometimes there are no answers. Maybe sometimes there are only the feelings and the questions -- like, where are you, Liese?
Are you dead?
--pg 46, Annexed by Sharn Dogar
So far this one is moving right along.  I like the glimpses at Peter's current self that appear as the memories are flooding his mind...works quite well....
They looked on expectantly as Rosalinda mumbled something angrily in Spanish as she hopped onto a blue square.
The pathway suddenly plummeted and Rosalinsa wobbled violently, crashing to her knees.
-- pg 45, A Gabby Girls Adventure Novel: The Secret of the Scarlet Stone by T.L. Clarke
Very curious to see just why she's hopping from square to square....must be something pretty important, and dangerous from the sound of it!
The Nutcracker House was not hard to find -- the nutcracker soldiers held sentry at least fifteen feet into the sky as the Rat King threatened the festivities and Clara danced through the night. I looked for a scroll in her hand, or a card on the top one of the light-strung presents. Then I saw it on the ground -- a light-dappled walnut the size of a basketball that had been cracked open just far enough to reach into.
-- pg 94, Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan
No, this was not received for review and yes it just released last week but so far...a must read, especially for all my bookish friends!  So much fun....
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other participants can add the book to their TBR.*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Until next time....happy reading!

They all sound so good!

I knew my feet were in bits, but I didn't dare take my boots off, because I feared I'd never get them on again. p190, Chris Ryan's THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY (true life story)

Nayuleska: Agreed....as does yours! Sounds like someone is in serious trouble.... O_O

Yup. It was an SAS operation - I'm earlier on in the book, and it's quite horrifying what they didn't have before the mission started.

Oh, Dash & Lily is just the book I need to get through Annexed! You were absolutely right! I may even pick it up to read for Chick Lit Reviews, and kill two birds with one stone, you know? Thanks for the fabulous teasers!

I hope you are enjoying Annexed. I really liked it and I thought it was very powerful. I really want to read Dash and Lily. I look forward to your review.

Christina: So far, ANNEXED is pretty good actually. Has a similiar feel at times to ANNE FRANK'S DIARY (as it should) but in a voice all its own. DASH AND LILY...well, what can I say...I'm TOTALLY enjoying it. Definitely recommend. ^_^
