Taste Testing Tuesdays (77)

Good morning (or whatever time it is where you are), everyone!
Welcome to another installment of Taste Testing Tuesdays here at Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers!  Taste Testing Tuesdays was inspired by 'Teaser Tuesdays', a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading
On the menu this week...one book that was completed in the wee hours this morning (but certainly deserves a tease) and another title I'll just be breaking the spine on today.
Ready for a taste?

He can hear my heart beating fast or slow.  He knows my inflection -- angry or sad -- and I know the hunch of his shoulders, the tilt of his head, and the angle of his tail.  we trust each other unequivocally; we know each other down to our bones.
-- pg 243, Until Tuesday by Fmr. Capt. Luis Carlos Montalvan (ARC)
This is the one I've just reached the end of and I must say it was surprisingly different than I may have first imagined, but certainly an emotional and touching journey nonetheless.  Review coming soon!

Green-eyed monster (Othello)
The term green-eyed in reference to jealousy was first uttered by Portia in The Merchant of Venice, while the full expression green-eyed monster is spoken by the wicked Iago in the later Othello.  Iago uses the phrase to "warn" Othello about the effects of jealousy -- all the while deliberately stoking the emotion within him.
-- pg 55, I Used to Know That:  Shakespeare by Liz Evers
The thing about this series of books (The Blackboard Series) is that while you are learning about a subject it's not merely put forth in textbook style.  You don't feel like you need to be in a school desk to be reading it.  It's presented in an easy read style that can be picked up and put down whenever the mood strikes....yet you still glean some interesting tidbits with each pass.  Just starting out with this one...should be interesting.

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other participants can add the book to their TBR.*

Until next time....happy reading!

What a cute teaser from Until Tuesday! It's been so long since I read Shakespeare that I might need to read that book :)

Such a sweet book! I love the cover & the teaser for Until Tuesday. And the Shakespeare book looks like a great stroll down memory lane, a good refresher! Great picks! :o)
