Taste Testing Tuesdays (78)

Good morning (or whatever time it is where you are), everyone!
Welcome to another installment of Taste Testing Tuesdays here at Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers!  Taste Testing Tuesdays was inspired by 'Teaser Tuesdays', a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading
On the menu this week...two books that I just cracked the spine on yesterday and am already breezing through.  The first is a YA exploration body-snatcher style (well, sort of)...and the second is an emotional journey through a woman's past after an unexpected change on her course in life.  Ready for a taste?

What was I? How had I come to lose my body? How does something like that even happen? What if I’d never had a body in the first place? Why couldn’t I remember? Not remembering had nothing to do with the wine… but I sure did have to pee.
-- pg 56, Abithica by Susan Goldsmith (ARC eBook)
Fun, right?  Okay, so the main character is going through a bit of an identity crisis right here especially considering the events leading up to this self-contemplation.  Suffice it to say, so far....the read is goind rather well.  This book is availabe in eBook format now, so be sure to check out the author's website for more information.

The human race lost something when digital photography was invented.  I sat cross-legged on the floor of Noelle's small living room, my back against the sofa as I paged through one of her old photo albums.  Like my own albums, hers had few recent pictures.  They were all on her computer.  Generations to come -- my grandkids for example -- would never get to look through my photo album and wonder "who is this guy and why was he important to grandma?"  Honestly, it made me sad.
-- pg 77, The Midwife's Confession by Diane Chamberlain (ARC)

An emotional and touching novel thus far, I've really feeling for the characters and with the discoveries they've made, I'm fairly certain those connections will only grow.  Reviw coming up next week for this new release...stay tuned....

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other participants can add the book to their TBR.*

Until next time....happy reading!
