Taste Testing Tuesdays...on a Wednesday!

Good morning (or whatever time it is where you are), everyone!
Welcome to another installment of Taste Testing Tuesdays here at Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers!  Taste Testing Tuesdays was inspired by 'Teaser Tuesdays', a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading

On the menu this week...a quick reminder that the VOTING for the Independent Book Blogger Awards is NOW OPEN!  If you'd care to vote for my site, feel free to click the VOTE button at the top of the right hand column....and THANK YOUNow back to the show....today's selections include a book that reveals just how CRAZY things can get on a plane and another that I've only just begun, but already it's making its mark.

Ready for a taste?  Here we go!

Falling asleep in class wasn't the only way to obtain walking papers.  Being late resulted in the same thing.  This is why flight attendants have perfected the art of power walking.
-- pg 35, Cruising Attitude by Heather Poole
So THAT'S why they're always in SUCH a hurry.  It's not merely the plane is about to take off, but to keep from getting kicked out of class?!  Makes sense..and it explains how they can sprint through airports in their modestly high heels.  Interesting read so far, learning much more about the industry behind the scenes (who knew it was SO competitive!) and the lengths passengers will go to get attention (<--yeah, that's the ONLY way of putting it nicely...oye!)

After playing God for six years with the world he created, he couldn't control any of his subjects, none at all. Over the years, he had watched them evolve and become the sum of their own choices rather than the sum of his; and for that, he regretted over giving them life.
-- pg 2, Socialpunk by Monica Leonelle (ebook)

Pretty striking, right?  That's only the preface, my friend!  I'm only a few pages beyond this excerpt at the moment but I must say, I'm enjoying it immensely.  Watch for the blog tour to swing by later this month!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
*Grab your current read
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Until next time....happy reading!
