Taste Testing Tuesdays

Good morning (or whatever time it is where you are), everyone!
Welcome to another installment of Taste Testing Tuesdays here at Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers! Taste Testing Tuesdays was inspired by 'Teaser Tuesdays', a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

On the menu this week...one ebook that I'm aiming to finish today (*fingers crossed*) and another paper book I've been sampling from since this weekend with curious results.  Ready for a taste?  Here we go!

“Come, let me play something for you.” Again the maestro extended a hand, and this time I took it and allowed him to lead me down into the orchestra pit, through a maze of music stands, to the grand piano. “Chilly, no? Here, take this.” He draped his big-shouldered suit jacket across my back, took his seat on the piano bench, and patted the place beside him. I sat. A moment’s stillness, and then his fingers began to dance along the keys with contained frenzy. The familiar strains of “Hungarian Rhapsody” filled the theater.
-- pg 21, You, Fascinating You by Germaine Shames

This beautiful story of life, love and hardship has marched forward to a darker time in human history...Hitler.  Yes, a dark and dangerous time for those that clung to the faith hated by this dictator.  *shakes head*  Should be finished with this dance by day's end....

I plunged my hand into the mass again and drew it back sharply -- a sliver of crab shell pierced me under my fingernail.  I saw white, then orange anger cleared this pain.  My anger was sharper than these crabs.  I knew this.
-- pg 86, The 13th Sign by Kristin O'Donnell Tubb (ARC)

This one is a curious little read suggesting that their are really THIRTEEN signs in astrology.  Curious, right?  Even more curious is when they are unleashed on mankind....can we say personality check?  Yep.  This scene I've already read through but it deals with Jalen's battle with none other than Cancer (hence the shellfish situation).

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

*Grab your current read
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Until next time...happy reading!

I love the sound of You, Fascinating You, it all seems so very grand.

I didn't know that the first book was like that. I'm interested to know how Hitler fits in.

Ooh, I'm a Cancer, and I did enjoy the writing of the second book (though the title of the first was delicious, too).
