Annulment is an ugly word and one she can’t or won’t forget. But is Nick the man he says he is on paper or is he the man she sees before her eyes? An adoring father with a generous heart who’s willing to smooth out some of his rough edges for the right woman, making her think who’s fixing who?Can this Hollywood playboy and reluctant matchmaker make the ultimate connection?

Statistically Improbable

"Super delicious read." - Charissa, Joy in the Moments ★★★★★ "5 Stars isn't enough....LOVED it!" - Lilac Queen, Romance Blogger★★★★★

Two professional matchmakers. One fake relationship. He's a playboy. She's a good girl. What could possibly go wrong?

According to Binary Search's matchmaking service, Meg and Zander's odds of ever having a successful relationship are statistically improbable. Meg has run the numbers and knows the probability, but for some reason she can't quit thinking about her coworker, Zander--the self-proclaimed eternal bachelor. To make matters more interesting, Zander approaches her with an unusual proposition. He's in need of a pretend girlfriend. Meg thinks this could be the answer to get him out of her system, and maybe knock the arrogant man down a few notches in the process. But what she doesn't realize is there is more to this man, something he carefully hides behind his arrogant exterior. And when her feelings begin to be anything but pretend, she knows the odds of getting hurt are more than probable. Will they let the odds over come them, or will they find that all the reasons they are wrong for each other are exactly what make them a perfect fit?

His Personal Relationship Manager

"One of the best romantic comedies I've read in a long time!" - Becky Monson, Bestselling Author of the Spinster Series

"Oh, my gosh. This is THE PERFECT romantic chick lit story." - Brit Rossie for Readers Favorite

He's met his match. She just doesn't know it yet.

After suffering a very public humiliation, Kenadie Marshall realizes that love shouldn't be left only to personal judgment. Instead of wallowing in her misery, Kenadie creates Binary Search, the perfect balance between a software application and human intuition to help others find true and lasting love, all while personally swearing off relationships for good.

Attractive and loveable Jason Hadley is taken with Kenadie from their first meeting. Determined to prove that love isn't over for her, he does everything he can think of, even if it means using her firm's service and dating other women to stay close to her. Jason quickly gains a rally of supporters, including Kenadie's over-enthusiastic mother and meddling best friend, but will his ploys help Kenadie find her match, or jeopardize everything she's created and lead to further humiliations? In an epic battle of wills, this romantic comedy shows that love is patient, love is kind, and love can heal even the most broken of hearts.

Here comes the... BRIDAL GIRL by Meredith Schorr!

HI there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.

Image result for friday

I know, I's FRIDAY...and I've already done a post for today, but guess what?  I just couldn't leave you at the brink of another weekend without sharing one of my latest reads!  It's the third in a series from author Meredith Schorr (the first two of which were also featured right here and here) and while it fits nicely into the Contemporary Fiction and Chick Lit genres don't think the characters or story are lacking because let me tell you now (*finger snaps*), they've both got a lot of spark!  Ready, set, let's get this party rolling down the aisle as we set our sights on today's book of choice...

Meredith Schorr
Henery Press

About the book...
Sassy book blogger-turned-author, Kim Long, thought her life couldn’t get any pinker when she received a two-book publishing deal and a marriage proposal in the same night. If only she could drown out the conflicting opinions of her overzealous bridal party. If only everyone would adore her first book—or she’d take Nicholas’s advice and stop reading reviews. If only Nicholas’s past would remain there rather than threaten their future. The pressure is on and the clock is ticking. Will Kim ever write “The End” on her sophomore novel? And, will she and Nicholas make it down the aisle to say those two precious words: “I do?” Put on your reading glasses, fill your champagne flute and prepare to laugh with (and sometimes at) Kim as she rewrites her happy ending until it’s worthy of five pink champagne flutes.

Here comes the bride?
Not if Kimmie can't get things under control!

Kimmie and friends (and frenemies!) are BACK and this time, she's having a crisis of faith. Now, we're not talking about the existence of the big guy upstairs, but it's pretty much just as crucial to her future happiness, to her well being, to her achieving her happily-ever-after.  The faith she is missing is in meet her deadline, mark all the wedding day planning things off her to do list, be there for her friends, and become the perfect soon-to-be-wife for Nicholas. That's A LOT to accomplish in so little time, especially when life keeps throwing monkey wrenchs of all varieties in her way.  From stumbling through writer's block to a surprise pregnancy, feeling the pull of her outside job to coming to Nicholas' rescue, she's splitting herself more than an atom in a nuclear reactor...and the clock is relentlessly ticking down to BOTH her big days!  Can she make it in time?  Of course, she's Kimmie...but it's not going to be easy, and it's gonna take an intervention (at the very least!) that she won't soon forget.

I gotta admit, I've enjoyed the series thus far, and this was no exception.  Kimmie is a great gal, kind hearted, always there for those that need her, and ready for anything, so it pained my heart to see her struggling so this time around.  When the reviews were getting to her, her friends kept pulling her away from saying yes to the dress, and even NIcholas had her running to save his job, I couldn't help myself...I wanted to jump in and be like HEY YOU...SHE COULD USE A HAND TOO!  Guess what though?  A helping hand for her from me wasn't needed because the author wrote in a great supporting cast to help her through...eventually.  I get it, they had stuff going on too, but come a bridal girl out!

Blogger Girl  Novelista Girl  Bridal Girl

In the end, it was a great trip down the aisle, even if it never happens (hey, I'm not spoiling it for you!).  You'll laugh, you'll gasp, you may even tear for a moment, and you'll definitely want to punch someone in the face (sorry, but I just don't like the girl!), but you'll do it all with a smile on your face because really, it's a fun story that could technically happen to you there with the pen in your hand, get to cracking on that book!  Who knows...maybe your HEA is just a few pages away.  Be sure to check out the other books in the series for the whole Kimmie saga!

About the author...

A born-and-bred New Yorker, Meredith Schorr discovered her passion for writing when she began to enjoy drafting work-related emails way more than she was probably supposed to. After trying her hand penning children’s stories and blogging her personal experiences, Meredith found her calling writing chick lit and humorous women’s fiction. She secures much inspiration from her day job as a hardworking trademark paralegal and her still-single (but looking) status. Meredith is a loyal New York Yankees fan, an avid runner, and an unashamed television addict.

Who's the boss?: THE SHOWRUNNER by Kim Moritsugu

Hi there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.

Image result for lights camera action

Today, we're shining the PRE PUB spotlight on a title making its way to you NEXT WEEK via Dundurn Press.  It came to my attention thanks to Kama Timbrell Communications and once I read about it, I was intrigued.  I mean, come on, we've all wondered at some time or another just what goes on on the other side of the camera, or behind closed doors.  I mean, the executives have GOT to have THE LIFE...right?  Hmm...I'll let you think on that while we say HELLO to today's ebook of choice...

Kim Moritsugu

About the book...
The hiring of a new assistant triggers a power struggle between an aging TV show creator and her former protΓ©gΓ©e.

Rising-star showrunner Stacey McCreedy has one goal: to leave behind her nerd-girl origins and become a power player ― like Ann Dalloni, her former mentor and current producing partner. Ann, meanwhile, is feeling her age and losing her mind. But she’ll be damned if she cedes control of their hit primetime TV show to Stacey.

After Ann hires Jenna, a young actress hoping to restart her stalled career, as an assistant, the relationship between Ann and Stacey deteriorates into a blood feud. Soon, Jenna must choose whom to support and whom to betray to achieve her own ends. And Stacey will find out if she possesses the killer instinct needed to stay on top.

The basic gist...
...two business minded women with complimentary skill sets embark on a journey to earn ludicrous amounts of money while changing the landscape of Television Production forever.  Flash forward many years later and insert "fresh blood" into their swimming pool that all of a sudden feels too small, overcrowded, and just a tad pushed aside...and you've got a rivalry that's been bubbling beneath the surface about to come to a VERY ugly head.

Their company was aptly named Two Women Walking, but it suited them in more ways than one.  The original story behind the name was short and semi-sweet...Ann and Stacey were TWO WOMEN in the Television Production business that enjoyed WALKING, so yeah, an obvious choice.  Little did they know that what once was the perfect working union would deteriorate into a caustic relationship where they were constantly second guessing the deeds of the other and plotting more than just the next show or story arc.  *ahem*  Let's just say, things get A LOT more than just tense, hence the second meaning of their businesses name, as in they should be TWO WOMEN WALKING...away from each other before it's too late!

While it had its exciting moments and a plot that I didn't truly see clearly until it actually HAPPENED (OMG...when it happened, it SO happened!), I had a hard time liking the characters.  I mean, Stacey had her moments of likability, but honestly, she was still a few cards shy of a deck.  Ann, on the other hand, was pretty much holding an empty card box...or marble bag...or domino container...if you catch my drift.  Yes, she had a few good reasons to push herself over the edge, but still, the spiral, OH THE SPIRAL!  Jenna was...a wild card.  She came off sweet, and clueless, but I don't know...there was still something there, and in a passage or two that facade seemed to slip, if only for a moment...making me think there was a bit more calculation to that girl than met the eye.

Image result for end scene

In short, it was a crazy trip behind the scenes of how some of your favorite TV show dramas come to be...though as this is Fiction, hopefully without such an EXPLOSIVE end.  *-*  Once you start, you won't be able to stop as it compulsively drives you forward with its dark humor and jaw dropping moments.  It surprises while it entertains, leaving the "viewing audience" with something to ponder after the "series finale".

About the author...

Kim Moritsugu’s six previously published novels include The Glenwood Treasure (shortlisted for the Arthur Ellis Best Crime Novel Award), The Restoration of Emily (serialized on CBC Radio), and The Oakdale Dinner Club. She recaps TV shows online as The Hungry Novelist and lives in Toronto.
