Title: NEED ME, COWBOY
Author: Maisey Yates
Genre: Romance
Harlequin Imprint: Desire

He’s not a man to be played with. Not without consequences.
For five years, Levi Tucker had no control over his life, locked up for a crime he didn’t commit. Never again would any woman—any desire—overtake this cowboy’s common sense. Now Faith Grayson, the sexy, brilliant architect he’s hired to design his grand new house, is sorely testing his resolve. Faith is too young. Too innocent. Maybe just too tempting.

Okay, so I know I do spotlights, excerpts, and what not just to help spread the word on new titles, authors, and/or publishers, but when I saw THIS ONE come around, I knew I had to spike it up with a review.  So, I'm breaking out the FANGIRL pic again because honestly, I LOVE THIS AUTHOR'S WORK!  This is a short story addition to the Copper Ridge series and due to page count, we sorta get into the "connection" part of things fairly quickly.  *ahem*  (Might need to say ~ADULTS ONLY~ right about here...)  Does that take away from anything?  Heck no....but it's nice to know going in.  Anywho...

Levi is a man with a past, but it wasn't of his own making.  Faith is a woman with a future that's not fully in her own hands.  Can they break away from what they expect of themselves and fight their own inner demons (totally varying in kind!) to reach for a future brighter than the fire burning between them?  Let's just say neither one of them are quitters and both are made of stronger stuff than at first perceived...which makes for one LOVE of a story!  Seriously, if you're already a fan of her work, this is one to grab for yourself STAT!  If you're a newbie to the series, it's not a bad starting point, but know that the full length novels themselves contain just as much spark with a lot more story.  Any way you turn the page, you're in for a treat!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author Maisey Yates lives in rural Oregon with her three children and her husband, whose chiseled jaw and arresting features continue to make her swoon. She feels the epic trek she takes several times a day from her office to her coffee maker is a true example of her pioneer spirit. In 2009, at the age of twenty-three Maisey sold her first book. Since then it's been a whirlwind of sexy alpha males and happily ever afters, and she wouldn't have it any other way. Maisey divides her writing time between dark, passionate category romances set just about everywhere on earth and light sexy contemporary romances set practically in her back yard. She believes that she clearly has the best job in the world.
PRE BOOK BIRTHDAY BUZZ: Silent Lee and the Adventure of the Side Door Key by Alex Hiam!
Hi guys!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.
Today, we're helping to spread the PRE BOOK BIRTHDAY BUZZ about a new book COMING SOON to a bookstore/virtual shelf near you via Webster Press!  It came to my attention thanks to Sarah over at Smith Publicity Inc and features a Middle Grade Fantasy title that is sure to enchant, entrance, and curiously bemuse readers from the target age group through adult.  Don't believe me?  Well then, let's change that.  Ladies and gents, here comes today's title in the spotlight...
by
Alex Hiam
Talion Publishing
About the book...
As if life isn’t already complicated when you have to sneak out a magical side door and enter a different century just to get to school each morning.
And now Silent has to figure out what happened to her beloved Aunt Generous, the woman who raised her—which would be complicated enough even if CIA agents in black SUVs weren’t chasing her—but they definitely are!
🚪     🔑     🚪     🔑    🚪     🔑    🚪
Silent is just as her name states...silent.  It's not that she doesn't speak, she just doesn't waste her words, and much prefers living in the side door world as opposed to the front door.  What is all this nonsense about side and front door worlds...you may ask?  Well, you see, there's the world you and I know, the front door world, into which we gain access to it through the front door...then there's a world sort of alongside our own (though just how many, no one quite knows!), and in this case, it's 100 years in the past, making the effort to keep up with the times, fads, and so one, a bit of a hard case to pursue!
Silent learned of this world from her Auntie Generous (LOVE that name!) and happily lived with her, exploring this and that world, while expanding her knowledge base and skills beyond what you or I would know.  What...I'm not saying anything about your intelligence, just merely stating that I doubt you know alchemy and could perform it on a moments notice...which she can, and does despite her trepidation to go against the rules.  Due to unforeseen circumstances, the breaking of a few rules is nothing when faced with the greater tragedy that could unfold.  I mean, maintaining control of the gateway is essential, discovering the whereabouts of Auntie Gen (if she's still alive!) is a must, and not being whisked away by a secretive government organization for further observation is certainly a priority.
See?  SO MUCH going on, and we've barely touched the tip of the iceberg because there's also lessons on friendship, trust, meddling, and confidence that are well worth carrying off the page with you upon your reemergence into reality.  I loved the characters, both lead and supporting...and even those that were surprise leads in their own way.  I loved the magic because hello....MAGIC!  Oh, excuse me...technically it's alchemy, but it's COOL nonetheless...and that birdcage was so neat!  I loved the adventure, the unexpected surprises, the jumps into and out of history, and even the possibility that that was even possible!
In summary, this was such an unexpectedly good read! So curious, and strange, and unique, and just the perfect way to escape for a bit of afternoon reading with the promise of more to come...well, it does list as the first of a new series, but when we'll see the second book is still a mystery worth waiting for, and I for one WILL be waiting!
TLC BOOK TOURS presents... The Austen Playbook by Lucy Parker!
Hi there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.
Today, we're joining TLC Book Tours for a stop along their current promotion featuring the latest addition to the London Celebrities series by Lucy Parker.  It's COMING SOON to a bookstore near you via Carina Press and will draw not only readers of Contemporary Romance, but those that favor Austen inspired works.  How so?  Well, the TITLE should give that away a smidge (LOL!), but there is a plethora of familiar faces running about that add to the classic splendor.  Ladies and gents, please quiet down as we draw the curtain back on today's blog tour guest and book of choice...
London Celebrities, Book 4
by
Lucy Parker
Carina Press
About the book...
In which experienced West End actress Freddy Carlton takes on an Austen-inspired play, a scandal at a country estate, an enthusiastic search for a passion outside of acting…and the (some people might say icy*) heart of London’s most feared theater critic.
*if those people were being nice
Freddy Carlton knows she should be focusing on her lines for The Austen Playbook, a live-action TV event where viewers choose the outcome of each scene, but her concentration’s been blown. The palatial estate housing the endeavor is now run by the rude (brilliant) critic who’s consistently slammed her performances of late. James “Griff” Ford-Griffin has a penchant for sarcasm, a majestic nose and all the sensitivity of a sledgehammer.
She can’t take her eyes off him.
Griff can hardly focus with a contagious joy fairy flitting about near him, especially when Freddy looks at him like that. His only concern right now should be on shutting down his younger brother’s well-intentioned (disastrous) schemes—or at the very least on the production (not this one) that might save his family home from the banks.
Instead all he can think of is soft skin and vibrant curls.
As he’s reluctantly dragged into her quest to rediscover her passion for the stage and Freddy is drawn into his research on a legendary theater star, the adage about appearances being deceiving proves abundantly true. It’s the unlikely start of something enormous…but a single revelation about the past could derail it all.
“There’s more drama offstage than on, the writing is outstanding, and the bit of mystery blends well into the romance. Theater fans will devour this lovely contemporary romance.”-Publisher’s Weekly, starred review, on The Austen Playbook
“The London Celebrities series-some of the wittiest, smartest dialogue to come down the romance pike in years.”-Kirkus ReviewS of London Celebrities series
Once upon a time, there was a great stage actress in the making.  By all accounts, the theater was in her blood and her family history backed that up one hundred percent...but sometimes what we WANT to do and what we OUGHT to do are two different things, and therein lies the conundrum.  The OUGHT will lead her down the path to greatness, and establish her as an actress to remember filling time honored roles and following in the footsteps of her familial predecessors.  The WANT in this case is a lot more fun, and less serious, but it will make her happy and allow her inner talent to truly be on display.  To disappoint family and push aside obligations is a tough decision to make...but so is squashing your own dreams to fulfill those of another...
Honest to goodness, for me it was initially a little rocky to get into, but once things clicked...I was hooked! With memorable characters, a multilayered story, a bloody good romantic interlude, and an ending that just felt right...why I do believe Ms Austen herself would be proud.  While it is the fourth book in the series (which somehow I did not know until writing this post!), it does work fine as a standalone...but then again, the more the merrier!  You'll enjoy the theatrical performances both on and off stage, the witty repertoire, the Darcy-esque moments, and the general FUN to be had throughout the story, while being drawn in deeper, and deeper to the unexpected mystery at the heart of it all.
Recommended for Contemporary Romance readers, theater fans, and Austenites alike.
About the book...
Dane Parker traded in his trailer-park roots for glory as a bull rider. But when a serious injury sidelines him for months, it’s the first time he can’t just pull himself up by his bootstraps. The last thing he wants to deal with is sweet family friend Bea treating him like one of her wounded animals—or the unexpected attraction that suddenly flares between them.
Beatrix Leighton has loved Dane for years, while he’s always seen her as another sister. When she enlists his help to start her animal sanctuary, she thinks it will give him purpose. Instead, it brings all the desire she feels for him to the boiling point. Bea’s father taught her early on that love means loss. But could her forbidden crush turn into a love that will last a lifetime?
Honestly, I was SO excited to see another book in this series, at first glance...I forgot who the story was going to be about.  I know, I know...read more carefully...but really, it's THIS series and THIS author; I knew I was in good hands!  At second glance, I was TOTALLY clued in (yay me!) and BEYOND ESTATIC because really, it's BEA and DANE!  If you've read the other Gold Valley series novels, you know how AMAZING these characters are and were dying to see what would happen...IF...yep, IF...I'll leave it at that.  *ahem*  After the last story ended with a particular (and painful!) splash of sorts, you were left with an unexpected cliffhanger...until now.
Image result for bull rider clip art
Rodeo superstar Dane Parker is down and out with a MAJOR injury thanks to a bull with a mind of its own.  Lucky for him, it didn't kill him...but, the path to healing just might, in more ways than one.  You see, he has a great nursemaid in long-time friend Beatrix Leighton...aka Bea...but she's not your typical caregiver.  She knows her way around injured animals like the back of her hand, so turning her skills on another person is as easy as riding a bicycle...she's a people pleaser, has been her whole life, always giving, never asking for more than given...even when it comes to unrequited crushes.  Yep, he's been her ideal for as long as she can remember, but she cares enough about him (or rather TOO much about him) to the extent that REALLY showing how deep her feelings run is scarier than facing off that bull that almost did Dane in.  Good thing chance and fate still exist because one of them is about to see things through new eyes while the other grabs the bull by the proverbial horns...
Image result for heart hands
Seriously guys, this was SUCH a fun read.  You couldn't help but cheer Bea on in her quest to better her self, save all the animals, and get her man.  Grant it, the last was the least certain quest of the three, but with Bea anything is possible...even if it's an unknown area of expertise.  Really, we talk about which characters we'd like to be "best friends" with in the bloggy world, and I would totally count her as one on my list.  Then there's our man Dane, who despite his bada** persona, is really a good guy underneath it all.  He just needed a little help, a little sorting out, and enough personal drive/desire to get his personal history in the past, while really reaching for his future.  They BOTH had things to learn, feelings to process, and needs to be met, and while some had to be dealt with on their own, the rest of it was made for sharing...and oh when the fireworks fly, how they flew!
In summary, since you know I'm all about keeping the word count down (HAHAHAHA!), I leave you with my final reaction from GoodReads...
"OMG! I am SO internally squee-ing after finishing this one! I mean really...SO GOOD! I was REALLY worried for a bit because I just couldn't see how they were going to give what the other needed or take what the other was giving, but that ending? *sigh*"
Recommended for adult fans of the author as well as Contemporary and Western Romance readers.
