Taste Testing Tuesdays (15)

Good morning (or whatever time it is where you are), everyone!
Welcome to another installment of Taste Testing Tuesdays!
Taste Testing Tuesdays was inspired by 'Teaser Tuesdays', a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading

On the menu this week ... a sampling from two books that I am just about to start (so these will be a surprise to us both!).
Let's take a taste, shall we?

As I drove along the winding lake road, I couldn't wait to restart our habitual lakeside rhythms:  our late breakfasts and very late lunches; our daily descent to the beach when the sun was well past its peak; a quick stop in the village to pick up a few bits of food for dinner on the terrace, where we would watch the fierce light mellow, then slowly fail.  Only then would be make our one important decision of the day -- whether the evening's entertainment meant a round of Monopoly or another descent to the lake for a gelato and walk on the promenade before we went to bed. -- pg 134, Keeping the Feast by Paula Butturini (ARC)

"But you are," he said, and seemed to shrink under a great gloom.  "You will be my fondest memory."  "Will be?" I asked, appalled.  "I will be  wretched." -- pg 72, Angel and Apostle by Deborah Noyes

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
*Grab your current read
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Until next time....happy reading!

The first one is coming along nicely...although making me hungry! The second...not sure as of yet. Will keep you posted.

  5. I think the second cover is nicer but the teaser in the first seems better

  6. Neither book really appeals to me this week.

Dark Lady's Chosen by Gail Z Martin (will be reviewed soon)

page 155: "I understand. And I promise that I won't try to throw myself out of the window. But I have to try." (the 2nd try is referring to something else spoken of in the convo (I think...I haven't got past the prologue! (not due to lack of interest)).
