Taste Testing Tuesdays (32)

Good morning (or whatever time it is where you are), everyone!
Welcome to another installment of Taste Testing Tuesdays!
Taste Testing Tuesdays was inspired by 'Teaser Tuesdays', a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.
On the menu this week ... one book I promise you won't see again on here next week.  It's good, just not fast paced....you'll see.  The second is a sequel to a book I read last year and is already lots of fun.
Shall we have a taste?

Recently my stove broke.  Or, more precisely, recently I discovered the stove was broken.  It might have been broken all summer, who knows.  This might come as a shock to some people, but I don't cook.  -- pg 210, It Could Be Worse, You Could Be Me by Ariel Leve

It's lines like these that add their snarky warmth to the collection.  Just try not to smile or smirk through this one...betcha can't!

At first he couldn't see any sign of a cow.  Then Otto's eye caught a sudden movement.  A shadow, blue-white on the snow, was moving fast in his direction.  Disoriented, Otto stumbled as a huge thing thing whirled out of the trees in a confusing blur of black and white.  -- pg 77, The Brain Full of Holes by Martin Chatterton
You see what I mean?  Possibly a cow whirling out at someone in the woods....how absurdly fun!

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
*Grab your current read
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Until next time....happy reading!
