Taste Testing Tuesdays (46) ...on a Thursday

Good morning (or whatever time it is where you are), everyone!
Welcome to another installment of Taste Testing Tuesdays here at Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers!  Taste Testing Tuesdays was inspired by 'Teaser Tuesdays', a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.  This week it is appearing on a Thursday....why?  Well I could say that I was just that cool and the day of the week matters not to me....but in all honestly, I totally forgot to post one this week!  Anywho...this post aims to correct that...
On the menu this week ... my choice in celebration of Banned Books Week and an eBook set for review this October with all the spooky fun to be had.  Shall we have a taste?

Nothing is more deadly than a deserted, waiting street.  The trees were still, the mockingbirds were silent, the carpenters at Miss Maudie's house had vanished.  -- pg 108, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

Really enjoying this one so far....should be finished and have it posted by the BBW conclusion on Saturday.

The wooden blocks had been real. But, if she closed her eyes, she could picture herself selecting them off the toy rack, paying the cashier, taking them home and arranging the letters on her table. Then forgetting so she could scare herself later. -- pg 25, The Skull Ring by Scott Nicholson

Although it has a creepy nature to it, I'm having a hard time with a few aspects at this point....but there's still much to read so we shall see.....

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other participants can add the book to their TBR.*

Until next time....happy reading!
