In My Shopping Bag (50)

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren.
Through her guidelines, your post does not actually have to be named the same and thus my post shall be..."In My Shopping Bag".  (just fits with the "foodie" theme a bit better in my humble opinion)
Let's see what's in the bag this week....

Review
Spilling the Beans on the Cat's Pajamas by Judy Parkinson
Annexed by Sharon Dogar

So the first title probably has you thinking....what?!?  It's suppose to be a book about popular expressions...should be not only educational, but funny!  The second you might have seen around the blogosphere recently....think Anne Frank but from Peter's perspective and fictional....we'll see how it goes!

Won
Cracked Up to Be by Courtney Summers
My Ultimate Sister Disaster by Jane Mendle
Megan Meade's Guide to the McGowan Boys by Kate Brian
Looks by Madeleine George
(won via contest from Lisa at A Life Bound by Books)
YAY!  Contest prize alert!  Gotta LOVE when these show up on your doorstep, or in this case, my over-sized Alice in Wonderland style mailbox.  Seriously!  It is pretty big and I think the mail person has taken it as a challenge to see just how much will fit in there.  But back to the books here...YAY!  Thanks Lisa!  Want to check out her site?  Just click the link right up there....

So this one JUST came out last week but our local store received an ARC this week....either way, YAY ME!  Scored the copy and will put in the Mount TBR for a read....

Wondering what the title, or heck, even the author of this one is?  Good question!  It's not actually listed on the book (okay, so the title is on the spine) but it looks like it'll be a lot of fun.  I mean with a cover like that and the unique approach to the promotion of the book....how could it not?  Snagged this one at le bookstore as well...into the TBR you go!

Purchased

Renefield by Barbara Hambly
Now doesn't this one sound like a great read for the season?  Probably won't have a chance to read it prior to October's end, but looking forward to it either way.  A potentially fresh viewpoint on the whole Dracula story from another insider....

Oh and another book was purchased too, but it's going into the December contest I have brewing so, yeah...not showing the title just yet.  ^_^

That's all for this week!
What did YOU get?
Do tell!

Until next time....happy reading!

  1. Some great books you have there. I'm particularly keen to read your thoughts on Annexed as I'm still debating on whether or not to read it or not.
