Taste Testing Tuesdays

Good morning (or whatever time it is where you are), everyone!
Welcome to another installment of Taste Testing Tuesdays here at Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers!  Taste Testing Tuesdays was inspired by 'Teaser Tuesdays', a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading

On the menu this week...two books that couldn't be more different from each other and yet both elicite smiles and laughter from readers....or at least this reader.  Ready for a taste?  Since I was being indecisive, I let my tweeps select today's "random" pages.  Hey, they're still random!  ^_^  The first response in was from the1stdaughter (~waves~); let's see what her number choices netted us today....

I'd gone back to bed in the hope of catching a few more Christmas winks and a snuggle with Ian, but she was yapping, jumping, and eager for fun at the bottom of the stairs.  She was full of the joys of only being eight weeks in this world, and, although she didn't know Christmas from any other day, even a normal day dramatically extended her experience of the world and held plenty of surprises and adventures.

All together now....1...2...3....awwww!  Such a cutie pie!  Just look at that adorable face.  I remember those days...a little puppy scampering around just discovering everything for the first time.  Many adventures for both puppy and the pup parent...and aside from being a a family pet, this little girl is being trained to be a helper dog.  So far, enjoying the story completely.  This book is available now from Plume...review coming next month.  Stay tuned...

A friend of ours who fancies himself an entrepreneur we have dubbed "the Bar Czar," in honor of one of his schemes: joint ownership of a bar. That project was fairly ordinary by the Bar Czar's standards.  Some of his schemes, like his fleet of chimney sweeps, his home-designed and produced sailboat (despite never having been a sailor), or his Bunkie Hunt buy-up-silver phase were amusing.

Hmm, okay, so I was pressed to choose a teaser from this particular page, but that's the fun of the 'teaser' posts, right?  A collection of short essays and writings from the author that brought us back to the 80's (cinematically speaking of course with her other published work), I have a feeling there will be many chuckles to be had whilst reading through this one.  Blog tour swinging through the end of this month...stay tuned!

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other participants can add the book to their TBR.*

Until next time....happy reading!
