READ ALL ABOUT IT: Entangled (Spellbound, Book 1) by Nikki Jefford

Hi there readers!

Today is a day is a day.
Okay, well in truth...that description fit yesterday better than today but since my work day yesterday didn't end until today (as in 12 AM this morning...*o*), my days are a tad mixed up at the moment.  If you're still following me and I haven't bored you into a stupor, allow me to welcome you back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers....the place where the reader (aka moi) may get lost in the pages but will never lead you astray (which converts to honesty is MY best policy).  Now, let's continue on with the day's second post which caused me to break out the shout worthy title of....

READ ALL ABOUT IT:

Spellbound, Book 1:  Entangled
by Nikki Jefford

From the author...
A Resurrection Spell Gone Wrong
Two months after dying, Graylee Perez wakes up in her identical twin sister, Charlene’s body. As a witch, can anyone blame her mother for attempting to bring her daughter back to life? Only now Gray’s stuck sharing her sister’s body 50/50 in twenty-four hour shifts. The race is on for Gray to find a way back inside her own body before Charlene purges her from existence.  Warlock Raj McKenna is rumored to meddle in the black arts, not to mention he’s after Gray’s invisibility spell and worse – her heart. But Raj might be the only one powerful enough to save Gray from fading away forever.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sounds good, right?
I mean most sisters can hardly stand to be in the same room (though they love each other at heart), let alone the same body.  Can't quite blame Charlene for wanting her life - body and soul - back...but to purge her sister out of existance?  Harsh.  Let's delve a little deeper shall we...and indulge in the book trailer....
Oooh....even more intrigued!
Curious to see just what happens...but with my busy reading schedule, it's not slated for a read/review until later this year (~bummer~).  HOWEVER, that doesn't mean YOU have to be kept in suspense by my side.  I won't even hold it against you if you decide to read ahead (so to speak) as this title IS available now (just made its debut last week...congrats!) at these online outlets...
About the author...
Nikki Jefford is a third generation Alaskan who found paradise in the not-so-tropical San Juan Islands where she is, once more, neighbors with Canada. She has a degree in journalism and was an entertainment reporter before returning to her first love: fiction. After a whirlwind romance in France, Nikki married Sébastien in March 2000. They reside with Cosmo the Wonder Westie.
(Love the bio....and Cosmo sounds adorable!)
To discover more about the author, connect with her online at her blog, follow her (you have her permission) on Twitter, or friend her on GoodReads.
Now, being the generous author that she seems to be and since I'm not able to provide that longed for review that I know you'll be on pins and needles to receive at the moment...Ms. Jefford graciously offered us a most delicious alternative.  It's not your usual guest post or interview...in fact it spotlights another book with a tasty treat that considering the content of this post...WON'T kill you.
SWEETS FOR THE SWEET MINUS THAT "SOMETHING EXTRA"
aka the "Non-Poisoned" Chocolate Recipe
Before coming back to life, Graylee Perez dies by eating poisoned chocolates meant for another girl. Below you’ll find a recipe that’s not only safe, it’s healthy! From one of my favorite cookbooks: Health by Chocolate by Victoria Laine. (Thanks to Victoria for the use of her recipe and photo.) These puppies kept me and my co-workers going during the Christmas rush in our shipping department. It’s a burst of energy in a ball!
Triple Omega Energy Balls
Makes: 16 ping-pong sized balls
Photo:  (c) 2007 Nanette Samol
2 Tbsp     flax seeds (ground or unground)
2 Tbsp     hulled hemp seeds
1 cup       walnuts
¾ cup      apricots
¾ cup      figs or raisins
¼ cup      cocoa powder
½ - 1tsp   maca, ginseng or cinnamon
¼ cup      white sesame seeds (or ground coconut flakes)
½ cup       non-dairy chocolate chips for melting
Directions:  Place all ingredients, except sesame seeds and chocolate chips into a food processor and process several minutes (usually at least two) with an ‘S’ blade, until mixture forms a moist mass.  Roll mixture into balls and set on a plate. Quickly dip each ball in a bowl of water and roll in the sesame seeds to coat or in melted chocolate.  Enjoy!
Hmmm...I don't know.
Healthy chocolate?
Sounds like an oxymoron to me...but then again, it may just be a bit a foody magic.
Haven't tried this recipe myself as of yet, but that doesn't mean I won't.  If you happen to before I, stop back by and let me know how it turned out, okay?
Special thanks to author Nikki Jefford for the heads up on her latest work as well as the share of Ms. Victoria Laine's recipe.  (Thanks ladies!)  For more information on anything mentioned in today's post, just click around....the links will lead you to the information you seek.  ^_^
Until next time...happy reading!
  2. I may have to put that one on my TBR list. It sounds very unique! : ) And... CHOCOLATE! This sound really good. I'm a bit of a health nut and a chocolate lover so I might definitely give them a try.
  3. Sounds like an interesting story! And healthy chocolate.....I just don't know about that. Isn't the sinful nature of chocolate part of the allure?
