About the book....
In this irresistible romantic romp, movie fanatic, Kensington Shaw is thrown into love—Hollywood-style–when her gorgeous ex presents a big screen challenge to win back her heart. What girl wouldn’t want to experience the Pretty Woman shopping scene? It’s number two on the list. Or, try the lift from Dirty Dancing? It’s number five. One list, ten romantic movie moments, and a handful of shenanigans later, Kenzi has to wonder…should she marry the man her family loves, or risk everything for a love like the movies?

O.M.G.
Where do I begin?
From 'You've Got Mail' to '27 Dresses' and everything in between, the movies covered in this story everything a swoon loving girl would love.  Well, at least this girl did anyway.  I don't know just what to say without sounding simply like a little fan girl!

Kensington was a great leading lady, though sometimes she needed help actually taking the reigns.  She has patience for days, depending on who it's on behalf of.  She has witt, humor, talent, and drive.  She has a dream worth chasing that seems just within reach. Aw, yes.  But does she reach it?  Better for me to know and you to find out.  The important part is she tries and when you take into account along with all the monkey wrenches thrown at her, THAT'S a miracal in and of itself.  Now two of those monkeys are Bradley and Bennett.  One is her future, one is her past come back to life....both will make your heart thump for various reasons throughout the story (i.e. anger, laughter, humor, etc)...although I was rooting for Shane...I mean, how could you not?  OH, wait...you haven't read it yet and have no idea what I'm talking about.  Well, trust me, it's well worth the read.

The nutshell of the story is this....girl meets boy, boy cheats on girl, girl finds new life until boy reappears and promises all her heart's desires...wait, no.  Boy reappears and muddles up her thinking process when it comes to him and the "fiance".   Girl has big decisions to make thanks in part to her heart but also the transgressions of others and in the end...makes a choice not for them but for herself.  It's a bundle of bookish goodness with a healthy dose of the movies you know and love; an interesting combo that works more than you know.  Recommended read for Chick lit fans and Chick flick friends for the fun of the story as well as the cleverness deployed throughout the story.  It's enough to make me simply sputter incoherently, vibrate off the floor with anticipation, and smile wide enough to signal 747s with my flash of white teeth.  I mean really, we're all working towards our own versions of happily-ever-after....is it so wrong that mine (and perhaps yours) mirrors that which is found within?

In short, a great read.

  1. Ooh the shopping spree in Pretty Woman or 'that' scene in An Officer And A Gentleman.

This sounds like a really clever book and though not a big fan of chick lit I love films so it really appeals to me.
