BLOG TOUR: Where My Feet Go by Birgitta Sif

HI there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.

So, life; she is less than perfect at the moment.  To help lessen the load (for a little bit at least), I am utilizing my favorite pastime of all, READING.  Who's with me?  *looks for raised hands*  Today's blog tour guest is certainly on board with its combination of wonderful illustrations and adorable fun, all adding up to a message we must not forget at any age.  Ladies and gents, put on your favorite shoes (or none at all if you prefer!), and get ready to greet today's book of choice...

About the book...
Meet Little Panda. He's awake and ready for adventure. Where will his feet take him? Do they walk a normal walk down a normal street? Or will they find a new way to carry him through the day?

Maybe a tree branch can be a shaky bridge. A sandbox a desert. A bath an underwater adventure. Maybe little feet can go anywhere. . . . There's a whole world to explore!

Young children will see themselves in Little Panda and find inspiration in Little Panda's big steps.

The message is clear, your feet can take you wherever you want to go.  The corner store?  No problem...just throw on some sneakers and you're off.  About town on a rainy day?  Sure...grab those galoshes and splash away!  To the beach?  Flip flops it is!  To work?  Slip into whatever fits the dress code and do your thing.  The end of the day?  The fuzziest, comfiest, cutest slippers you ever imagined.... *daydreams*...oh, excuse me.  Where was I?

Readers of all ages will identify with Little (and Big!) Panda as the day transpires and the adventures wind down.  It encourages exploration, following of dreams, and the use imagination to turn the ordinary unto the extraordinary.  Watching as Little Panda gets his feet into his colorful socks (non-matching of course) and tops it off with YELLOW moon boots.  Seeing him traverse mountains, bridges, and a splishy-splashy ocean, only to finally be tickled by the clouds.  Sounds dangerous, right?  Sure...if taken at face value, but you'll have to join in the adventure to see just what Little Panda was up to here, there, and everywhere, and you won't be disappointed.  The illustrations at every turn of the page will inspire and delight.  The color palette used is muted in tone but it works well with the starkly white background utilized in some scenes while blending nicely in the full page spreads.

Overall, a wonderful read about the adventures our feet can take us on if only we've the desire, courage, and imagination to follow.  My favorite scene of all is where Little Panda's feet sit quietly so as not to disturb the feeding dinosaurs.  Sounds scarier than it is, trust me.  ^-^  Recommended for the kiddos as well as those that simply kiddos at heart.
