Well, February has come and gone, but MARCH is here to stay...at least for 31 odd days or so.  ^-^  We're here to kick things off right with a BLOG TOUR from the folks over at Penguin Young Readers.  It stars a Picture Book title that just so happens to have celebrated its BOOK BIRTHDAY yesterday (*blows party horn*) AND is quite literally out of this world.  No joke!  Ready to discover what today's reading world has to offer?  Ladies, gents, and that I-don't-see-you-but-I-really-do-alien-like-critter-in-the-corner, make way for today's intergalactic Picture Book pick...

One daring young astronaut sets out on a mission...

...TO PROVE THERE IS LIFE ON MARS!

You see, missions of the past have been unable to provide the evidence needed to substantiate these claims, but our little "out of this world" hero has a plan.  He knows JUST what will call the Martians to the yard (if you got the reference, enjoy the laugh!)...err, crater.  Any guesses?  Oh come on...I know you can do it!  Here, let me give you a visual...

Oh yeah.
Mouth watering yet?
^-^

So you see, it's a FOOL PROOF PLAN...right?
But where oh where are those Martians hiding?  Will he in fact uncover the existence of life outside of planet Earth and return a hero...or will he simply come home and sulk with a box of cupcakes that still look....hey, wait a sec...

Where'd they go?
*-*

You don't think...
But how could they...
Right under his nose?

Only YOU know the real answer all along as our intrepid planet jumper tries to piece things together...and ends up coming home with proof of "life" nonetheless.  That bit of inside info is enough to spark giggles among the youngest of readers, while those young at heart smile knowingly at the young man that's been "had".  It's a cute story that let's kiddos explore outside their own planetary orbit while reminding them that while they may not always find exactly what they seek, sometimes the surprises are well worth the misadventure.
