STORYBOOK SUNDAY: 7 Ate 9 by Tara Lazar

HI guys and gals!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.

We're celebrating another day of bookish fun with Storybook Sunday! For those not up to speed on the post, I read a lot of great storybooks and thought, why not give them their own day in the sun. Hence, Storybook Sunday! Feel free to join the fun and create a post on your own site with the same name. I'd love to see any linked up in the comments! Anywho...back to the matter at hand.

Today, my SIXth sense is telling me that our featured title is going to leave you in SEVENth heaven.  Yep.  No TWO ways about it.  You're ONE lucky reader to have stumbled upon this post.  I mean, how FO(U)Rtunate can you be?  You didn't even have to walk FIVE hundred miles, or sacrifice any of your NINE lives to come face to face with our numerically riddled, hilariously fun Storybook Sunday pick!  Guess we got your number.  (Ha!)  Seriously, though, enough with my shenanigans, it's time to meet today's book of choice...

Here are the facts...
Private I has a case reported by SIX about a particularly hungry number that seems to follow him all the time...and may have done something dastardly to a digit a few leaps ahead.  DUN DUN DUNNNN!  Did SEVEN do it?  Does EIGHT know the skinny?  Are there any witnesses that might help make these pieces add up?  I is on the case, and you best believe he'll get to the lowest common denominator...

Between these pages, we have a carefully crafted tale of mystery, mischief, and maybe even MURDER...all in descending order.  How so?  Well, it's a classic noir story set for the kiddos, but with humor and numbers running amuck that will turn heads of all ages!  Seriously!  Even when I was flipping back through the pages to remember this or relive that before typing this very post, I caught a few more details that I missed the first go round that brought a smile to my face.  (Take note of the detective agency's name... ^-^)  With illustrations that bring this sordid tale to life, kiddos will have a hard time keeping a straight face, but that's nothing when we consider all the numerical puns that will have adult readers in stitches.  It all adds up to a case of "something for everyone"...and that's no laughing matter.
