About the book...
Welcome back to New York Times bestseller Sandra Hill’s Cajun country, where love heats up the Louisiana bayou . . .

Former Chicago cop Simone LeDeux is back home in the bayou, sharing a double wide in the Pearly Gates trailer park to help her mama recover from surgery. Her one rule: no Cajun men. Loved and left by too many double-crossing Cajuns, Simone puts bad experience to good use by opening Legal Belles: an agency that uncovers cheating spouses.

Suddenly she’s confronting a two-timer about to swindle his wife out of millions and antagonizing New Orleans bigwigs over an illegal sex club. Adam Lanier learns of the dangerous game Simone is playing . . . and the sexy single dad comes to her aid. Known as a rogue in the courtroom and a player in the bedroom, the ragin’ Cajun has Simone triply on guard.

With their crazy chemistry, danger on their trail, and infamous LeDeux relative Tante Lulu working her magical matchmaking, the bayou has never been this steamy.

The story...
...former cop turned investigator, Simone, heads back home to Louisiana to take care of family.  She has a run in with newly transplanted Adam, a Harley riding, single dad with looks to spare, when getting things set up for her new business, Legal Belles (nice ring to it!) and since be happens to be her half-brother's new law partner, the sparks that fly in that chance meeting are bound to ignite.  The rest as they say is history or rather HIS and HER story because their push and pull on each other is a big part of the overall tale, but butting right up next to it and making itself at home is their work lives.  As explosive as their feelings are for each other, things are about to get real, REALLY fast...

My feelings...
...the characters are charming (mostly), the family relations humorous, and the magic brewing auntie a riotous hoot.  You've got to love her meddlin' ways even though she claims to have no true power at all, simply the ear of a higher power.  I admit, I was laughing my self silly when the pregnancy scare starting running through the whole family, putting everyone on edge even when they shouldn't have a thing to worry about.  Simone was a force to be reckoned with, giving us a strong female lead against an equally strong male lead in Adam Lanier.  Let's not forget the spunky little angel we call Maise because really, she's a gem!  As much as we are to love our leading man and woman, you can't leave this little girl out in the cold.  I also enjoyed the secondary plot line running just beneath the surface, creating just enough stirrings to keep you guessing as to what dangers lie ahead...which ultimately turns into something that will have everyone rethinking their stance on living the best life they can.

There is one thing I discovered though that wasn't as grand...my dislike for the whole Cajun thing.  Honestly, everything from the cultural beliefs to the speech patterns to the lingo to the "moves", irked me to the point of distraction time and again.  I just recently came to terms with liking some Contemporary Romance stories featuring cowboys (not the wild west sort, but the rancher variety), so I figured, I hadn't tried Cajun, let's do it!   You live, you learn, and I've learned it's not my cup of sweet tea.

In conclusion...
...I came for the story, and did in fact enjoy the ride, but another trip to the bayou doesn't seem to be in the cards for my future reading.  Don't let my trip detour you though....perhaps you'll catch the fever and be CAJUN CRAZY before you can say "the end"?  Recommended for Contemporary Romance readers and Cajun lovers, both of the adult age range due to content and topics covered.
