RRR presents... FIVE MINUTES, ALFIE by Lily Mae Walters - REVIEW + GIVEAWAY!

HI there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.

Whether you're sheltering in place, or find yourself in a retail position that is now deemed as necessary as medical workers so you'll be open pretty much no matter what, I hope you're staying safe and keeping some peace of mind!  Seriously folks, I understand the concern, but the level to which it's escalated in all aspects of life is UNREAL.  Does anyone else feel like they're living a YA Dystopian novel, or is it just me?  Anywho, let's get our minds off that subject and back to the matter at hand...

Today, we're joining up with a tour group I'VE NEVER WORKED WITH BEFORE...LIKE EVER...(SO MUCH sarcasm!)...or rather, one that I've worked with oh-so-much you'd think I have personal stake in the business/organization or something (which I don't)!  That's right, it's Rachel's Random Resources and can I just say that Rachel does an AMAZING job with the tours she brings to readers and sites throughout the blogosphere...and I mean the selection of titles speaks for itself, seeing as I sign up as often as I can!  The title on the docket today is a Children's Picture Book that will speak to just about every reader at some point in their lives because really, wouldn't we all love just a little more sleep?  Ladies and gents, today's ebook of choice is...

Five Minutes, Alfie
by
Lily Mae Walters

About the book...

Alfie snuggles down in bed,
dreams still in his little head.
He dreams he's a king going out for a ride.
"A dragon sleeps in front of the gate," they cried.
How will they succeed in waking him up?
By helping each other and lots of luck.

Ever think about what can happen in five minutes?
I mean, waking or sleeping, there is SO MUCH that can go down, turn up, or flip around that the number of possibilities is almost immeasurable...

Here, we've got a little boy after my own heart because frankly, I'm not a morning person, and five more minutes is the typical reply of myself when asked to "rise and shine". Now I'm telling you, the adventures I have during that time are usually tossing and turning, or a flat out dreamless state, whereas Alfie lives a full and vibrant life full of royal meetings, and dragon waking!  It's a cute, mostly rhyming tale, that will bring little ones sweet medieval dreams, and perhaps a bit of encouragement to seek out that every time under the sheets...much to parental chagrin perhaps, but they can at least rest assure knowing that their wee ones are building their imaginations!

All in all, it was a delightfully colorful tale fit for little kings and queens that'll bring a smile to your face and a lift to your heart.
