TCBR Awareness Tour: EQ EXPLORERS: Little Adventures for a BIG, HAPPY LIFE by Kim Linette - REVIEW + GIVEAWAY!

Hi there!
Welcome once again to the site that aims to be a bookish part of your day, EVERY day...Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.

As promised, we've got another fabulous tour coming at you via The Children's Book Review and this time we're featuring a trio of Picture Book fun from author Kim Linette, and illustrated by James Lorem!  They are a part of the EQ Explorers series and are aimed at providing Little Adventures for a Big, Happy Life and quite honestly, these books rather do!  Ready or not, let's get down to business as we take a walk on the wild side with today's titles of choice...

Compare Bear's Double Dare
Compare has a problem.  He's a bear, and he never seems to think he can do anything any better than anyone else.  Though it doesn't sound like a problem at first, constantly comparing himself to others has him starting to lose himself...in some rather fantastically funny, but unfortunate ways.  Seriously guys, you've never seen a bear with a squirrel's tail or a bird's beak before now, have you?  Yeah, that's what I thought, but our boy Danny knows just the thing to get him back to his old bear self...and it's a lesson that reader's of all ages can benefit from.  In life, there will always be someone better at this or that, but just as someone else shines brighter in some areas, so do you...so YOU DO YOU is a definite takeaway because really, there's only one of you and that's special enough for the world!

Jojo Giraffe's Big Laugh
Our pal Jojo helps Kali realize that there's a big difference between respecting the opinions of others because they see things from their own perspective, and making their perspective her own.  It doesn't matter what others think of you, but rather what you think of yourself.  Everyone has an opinion, but their opinion is just that...THERE'S.  Again, YOU DO YOU is heard loud and clear.  I totally respect Jojo for taking care of our girl Kali as she goes from overly upset child to a proud princess ready to share her gifts with the world!

Wally Whale's Mighty Tail
Wally is not a whale to be trifled with, but he's also the most easy going BIG guy you'll ever meet!  When our little friend Koa seeks the answer to being mighty, which happens to be written on a rather mighty fella's tale, he gets more than he bargained for.  Wally won't simply tell him the answer, but makes him work a little for it, letting him learn a valuable lesson along the way, AND the big secret answer he sought the whole time.  It's certainly of book about being positive and seeking the joy in life, but it's not unreasonable either.  It doesn't shy away from the fact that bad things can happen; it just reinforces that wonderful message on Wally's tale...
