Alright guys, so cranky chicken 🐔  is well... CRANKY.  Go figure with a title like that, am I right? But it's not an over the top, explosive cranky... more an everyday is a new day, oh joy, sort of cranky. Thing is pretty much everything makes him cranky... even discovering a new friend who is anything but!  Enter Speedy, who, despite being a worm 🪱 and the size of an average teeny tiny being , is actually very speedy and very upbeat! A more opposite duo would be hard to find, and yet after Cranky Chicken inadvertently rescues Speedy, he's his friend for life. He'll help him see the good in things, even if it doesn't cheer him up, and aid him in overcoming fears he had no intention of overcoming, even if only part way. 😉

It's the friendship that builds against the odds, the odd couple match-up actuality matching up when it seemed so unlikely, along with the brilliant illustrations, that make this title soar! It was wonderful to see the story grow and the fast friends (sort of!) grow with it. I loved Cranky Chicken for all his crankiness, and adored Speedy for his endless optimism. There wasn't a mountain too high they couldn't take together, even if Cranky Chicken wasn't looking for one to begin with.

A fun tale for the tall, the small, and the crankiest of us all!
