About the book...
Is it the end of their love story or just the beginning?

Callum and Alice McClaren have spent two wonderful years building a life and a home and making plans for a future together. But when Alice is involved in a car crash, Callum fears that he has lost her forever. As he sits by her bedside he promises he’ll do anything if only she’ll open her eyes…

But when Alice does finally wake up, she has absolutely no memory of being in love with Callum or the life they once shared. In fact, all she remembers about him is how incredibly annoying he once was!

How can she have forgotten him if she really did love him so deeply?

Callum is determined to prove to Alice that what they had was special, so he makes her a deal: he’ll recreate their first ten dates and make her fall in love with him all over again!

Alice isn’t sure Callum can fill in all the gaps in their story. And what if going back to the start only means the end?

Alright guys, I promised I'd tell you why this book should be on your TBR, and I don't break my promises...much like Callum and the ten date deal he made with Alice...TWICE.  (Be still my heart!)

Have you ever seen/read The Vow?  Basic concept...girl and boy inexplicably get together, marry, ginormous accident where she survives, but loses her memories back several years...including those of and with her husband.  It's actually based on a true story...heartbreaking as it is.  The thing is, this one reminded me a lot of it, in a bare bones sense, but then it took the concept in a whole new direction.  Keeping the characters together while they try to rebuild what was lost (great way to build their connection!), giving us the ten dates to look forward to as we capture Alice's past through the present (fab way to keep the storyline tight!), and putting us beside both Alice AND Callum for the emotional turmoil they were experiencing (my heart soared and dove so quickly I thought I was on a reading rollercoaster!).  There were moments of joy, and many more of frustration, and by story's end, I wasn't even quite sure if they had a chance of making it because of her absolutely stubborn streak, though I could understand her thought process as well...but I wanted them to, so much.  They deserved it for both their past selves, and their present.

It's not a story that's easy to classify either because it has romance, and definitely fits the contemporary moniker, but it also included humor, and family/life situations that ring true for women's fiction.  In other words, there's a little something for every niche reader, and those final moments when all cards are on the table and you're looking for that forever-after...you won't be holding your breath in vain.  Totally. Worth.  It.  💗
