Welcome back readers!

Today's post features the latest addition to the Kitty-Corn Club, a fabulous Board Book series that keeps growing with Abrams Appleseed. Why feature it today? Well, it just so happens to be National Unicorn Day, and we can't celebrate THAT without Kitty-Corn and friends, now can we? No siree! So get ready,  get set, and let's get reading...

This next chapter in the Kitty-Corn Club series celebrates all the things that make us...US! From furry tails to sticky tongues, saddle backs to talon toes, we get to see how different these friends are, and yet how similar too! We all have parts, and they help make up who we are, but they differ and that's AMAZING! By book's end, they've made a new friend and found a way to bring tentacles into the mix for ALL of them!

I have loved this series from the word GO. When the storybooks released, I was there. When I heard the board books were being introduced, I was revved up and ready to go. The thing about Kitty-Corn is that it invites everyone in, young and young at heart. It celebrates the beauty of life, friendship, and learning in ways that are easy to grasp for wee ones, wonderful reminders for older readers, and delightfully illustrated for all! Seriously, if you can make it through one story without smiling,  you've got me beat, and I wouldn't even be trying! 😅

A great addition to any reading library, and a fun read for the tall, small, furry, scaly, and... sticky? 😉

They’ve made a bunch of other books, too. They are both moms of kids who love parties, wives to husbands who give them homemade cards, honor award winners (Caldecott and Newbery), caretakers of cats, and believers in unicorns. Pham lives in Los Angeles, Hale lives in Utah, and although they also have friends close to home, their best friend hearts are always entwined.

RRR presents... Too Hot To Handle by Portia MacIntosh - REVIEW!

Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers. Today, we join Rachel's Random Resources for a stop along their current tour featuring the latest release from author Portia MacIntosh! You know the name, you know her work, and, if you're like me, you're ready for more. Well, today's "more" is reader ready and fan approved, so let's get down to business! Today's featured title is...

Too Hot To Handle
by
Portia MacIntosh

About the book...
One bachelorette party. One stag do. One double-booked villa and only one way to decide who gets it: a competition.

Workaholic Molly is buzzing when her best friend tells her she’s getting married. As maid of honour Molly can’t wait for the perfect bachelorette party in Spain. What could be better than a week in a stunning villa? Sun, sea, cocktails and gossiping – and best of all, no boys allowed. But when the hens arrive they discover that they are not alone. The villa has been accidentally double booked by a group of stags who make it very clear they’re not leaving!

It’s a disaster, and no one wants to give up their place in paradise. Attempts at compromising fail instantly, so their only option is to have a winner takes all competition. Battle lines are drawn and it is girls v boys - but will the competition be too hot to handle?

As their rivalry heats up, and Molly finds herself gravitating towards stag Travis, it’s clear that he’s enjoying the attention - but Molly can’t let herself get distracted, and under no circumstances can she fall for the enemy.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This book had me from the start!
The moment that we met Molly, I knew we were gonna be friends, well, in the epages at least. ☺️ She has a kind heart, but she's no doormat. She was squashed in love by the dastardly Dean (what, an a*&hat!), given a bowl full of laughs inadvertently thanks to a run in with the odious Mark (OMG, I wanted to smack him SO BAD, though she was no shrinking violet), and still her heart asked for more when it felt stirred. Grant it, the moment it does is rather inopportune, but at least it hasn't given up on her or her on it. 😉 From the break up to the engagement party, the hen do to the I do, Molly has ups, downs, and in-betweens, but by book's end, she'll get her chance. Just you wait and READ!
A great addition to this author's ever growing body of works, and a wonderful pick for your next weekend reading escape! If you're a romcom fan, this is definitely a title that should be on your TBR!
About the author...
Portia MacIntosh is the bestselling author of over 30 romantic comedy novels.
From disastrous dates to destination weddings, Portia’s romcoms are the perfect way to escape from day to day life, visiting sunny beaches in the summer and snowy villages at Christmas time. Whether it’s southern Italy or the Yorkshire coast, Portia’s stories are the holiday you’re craving, conveniently packed in between the pages.
Formerly a journalist, Portia has left the city, swapping the music biz for the moors, to live the (not so) quiet life with her husband and her dog in Yorkshire.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Sister-author duo Ali Barclay and Sofie Wells form the writing team behind The Tales of Charlie Wags picture book series. The series offers young explorers a conversational understanding of the world’s most famous cities.
As daughters of immigrants, their family heritage exposed the sisters to the importance of cultural diversity early on. Their parents prioritized showing them the world, even on a tight budget. This instilled in them the idea that travel is one of the best forms of education.
Recognizing that not all children had the chance to explore the world firsthand, Sofie and Ali saw an opportunity to share their travel experiences with other families and children through charming stories that make far-off places accessible.
ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATOR
Sanna Sjöström, also known as Sannadorable, is based in Sweden and creates stunning digital watercolor illustrations.
Sanna has loved art her whole life and has plenty of experience painting with watercolor. When she had children, she didn’t have the time or energy to pull out all the necessary supplies to paint. She found that her iPad was accessible in just seconds; so, she started mimicking watercolor digitally.
She now illustrates for children’s books, but also creates posters, cards, and digital illustration tools. Her biggest inspiration comes from flowers and nature. Sanna’s mission is to brighten your day and make you smile through her art.
