Good morning (or whatever time it is where you are), everyone!
Welcome to another installment of Taste Testing Tuesdays!
Taste Testing Tuesdays was inspired by 'Teaser Tuesdays', a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.
On the menu this week is a sample of two books I'm currently reading. The first is a thus far a rather awe-inspiring memoir. The second promises to be a great chick-lit pick. Let's take a sample, shall we?
I heaved myself off out of the gate with a massive push, unaware of what the competitors on either side of me were doing. I got the lead early, and for the entire first quarter, was surprised by the empty course ahead of me. -- pg 116, Double Take: A Memoir by Kevin Michael Connolly (ARC)
A few minutes later she ceremoniously placed a bowl of oatmeal in front of me, proped her hands on her hips, and smiled. "I made a special surprise for my sweet little honey-bunny.
Happy birthday." -- pg 60, Saving CeeCee Honeycutt by Beth Hoffman (ARC)

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
*Grab your current read
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Until next time....happy reading!
A great teaser for the first book (Double Take), it makes me want to find out more. Not too sure about the second book though "honey-bunny", sounds rather sickly, don't you think? Still, you can never real tell.
ReplyDeletePetty Witter: I can see what you mean on the second, but like I said, it's suppose to be chick-lit....so you kind of expect that to a certain degree. From the synopsis and a few other pages I scanned, I probably didn't pick the best section to highlight, but alas...the fates spoke and opened to this passage. =0)
ReplyDeleteBoth sound good.
