Good morning (or whatever time it is where you are), everyone!
Welcome to another installment of Taste Testing Tuesdays!
Taste Testing Tuesdays was inspired by 'Teaser Tuesdays', a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.
On the menu this week is a sample of one book that I've been a bit slack on finishing (it's a sequel and I haven't read the first one, makes it a little harder on this one), but it is surely coming along....and a second that I am desperately wanting to finish prior to the movie release! Let's take a taste, shall we?
Groves followed her inside and waited as she struck a match and lit a long, tapered candle. "I, uh...don't usually schedule meetings so late at night. I take it your calendar for today was completely filled?" -- pg 36, Powers by John B. Olson
He moved sideways like a crab and paused at each pile to count the number of stones and write it down. When he was finished, he had thirteen numbers: 18-1-4-9-5-4-23-1-12-4-19-14-5. -- pg 139, Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
*Grab your current read
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Until next time....happy reading!
Shutter Island sounds interesting. Do you recommend it?
ReplyDeleteChristina/Book Addict: Honestly? Can't say yet! Haven't actually started it...been carrying it around for the past few days while finishing an upcoming February release. (I know...guilty!) Will definitely weigh in once I get a bit into it. =0)
ReplyDeleteO Shutter Island sounds a bit scary!
ReplyDeleteUPDATE! So I started reading Shutter Island at lunch (yeah, I know, I know...I need to finish the other one, but this one is begging to be read!)..so far, so good...except for the bout of sea-sickness...yeah, not really the part I'd hope to be reading at lunch...but still good!
ReplyDeleteJuju: It's suppose to be a bit scary, but more suspenseful (I think...)...we shall see! =0)
Cool! Both those books sound awesome.
ReplyDeleteOk, here's a quote from A Disobedient Girl by Ru Freeman
The children look over their shoulders at the sound of the explosion but they don't stop walking."
Er...lost the page number now. It's somewhere in there . The previous two sentences I was going to pick gave the plot away.
Yunaleska: Nice share! (LOL on losing the page number...I've lost many a good quote the same way...)
