In My Shopping Bag (46)

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren.
Through her guidelines, your post does not actually have to be named the same and thus my post shall be..."In My Shopping Bag".  (just fits with the "foodie" theme a bit better in my humble opinion)
Normally seen on a Monday here at my site, today it moves to Sunday.  Why?  Because I say so, that's why....just kidding!  Last week's post got pushed to the back burner due to the BBAW celebration so with two weeks in one, I just couldn't wait til Monday...not to mention we have a fun book review coming tomorrow to beat the Monday blues.
Let's take a peek inside my shopping bag from this past week....

Review

Nevermore by Kelly Creagh
Losing Faith by Denise Jaden
(courtesy of Simon & Schuster)
The ironic part of these books arriving....I was JUST looking at them the day before in the bookstore and saying to a friend...see this one?  This would be a great one to include in my October posts.  Thank you "book fairies"!

The Familiars by Adam Jay Epstein and Andrew Jacobson
(courtesy of the authors and HarperCollins Children's Books)
This was a genuine surprise!  I've had my eye on it for a while now and will certainly be making it a part of my "now reading" books shortly.  Congratulations once again to both authors on the book's success thus far!

Crusade by Nancy Holder and Debbie Viguie
(courtesy of Simon and Schuster)
Hmm..so this is in my TBR pile, right near the top, but now I'm up to (1) ARC version, and (2) finished hardbacks.  I wonder what I shall do with the extra hardback.... *ponders*

Intrinsical by Lani Woodland
(courtesy of Madelyn at Pendrell Publishing)
Excited to read this one as the storyline sounds really interesting.  Had to refresh my memory when I received the review copy though as there was a bit of a shock within the opening pages, but the intial email contact cleared that mystery up.  (WHEW!)

-----------------------------------

Purchased

Century Quartet, Book 1:  Ring of Fire by P. D. Baccalario
The Young Bond Series, Book 1:  Silverfin by Charlies Higson
Two random book purchases, okay, well the second was random as I saw it in the bargain section of one of our book stores and though ooh, that's sounds interesting.  The first was a semi-planned purchase as it was on my wish list...

The Last Track by Sam Hilliard
Okay, so those that follow my site, probably already know I read and reviewed this previously from a finished copy, so why purchase it after the fact?  Well, it just so happens that the book went in for a second printing and there happens to be a page of review quotes in the front of the book that a certain insatiable reader might happen to be on.  (hehe)  So yes, I HAD to own a copy of that version too.  ^_^

That's all for this week!
What did YOU get?
Do tell!

Until next time....happy reading!

  4. Looking forward to those reviews. I've been very naughty these last few weeks and have well and truly blown my self-imposed book buying ban.

  6. Thanks for the mention of Sam's book - The Last Track - we're pretty pleased that it is in a second printing and we just couldn't leave out all the terrific things that fabulous bloggers like you have been saying about it, especially one from such an Insatiable Reader!
If any of your readers are in the Collingswood NJ area, Sam will be signing books at our booth at the Book Festval there on Oct 2!
