Good morning (or whatever time it is where you are), everyone!
Welcome to another installment of Taste Testing Tuesdays here at Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers! Taste Testing Tuesdays was inspired by 'Teaser Tuesdays', a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.
On the menu this week...one title I'll finish for certain today, another I've already been sampling, and a third I'll be starting with a rather strange/gigle inducing title.
Ready for a taste?

A subtle lifting of her shoulders, an alluring elongation of her back, the coy tilting of her head, and a suggestive swing if the hips, an va-voom! Immediately, people noticed.-- pg 97, Read My Hips by Kim Brittingham
Not my usual read but both curiously interesting at times all the same. Learning to love oneself now in lieu of only after results are achieved, not a bad idea. Review to come....
I watched it lurching up the grounds, and It wore my brother's skin. Its jawbone wagged like a curtain in the harsh October wind.-- pg 24, Dread of Night by Joshua D. Boeringa & Robert Forest
Spooky as the cover suggests or merely tinged with shiver inducing tales? The jury is still outbut let's just say this short poem fit the bill to a "T". O_O
Mom's swearing like a sailor because we're stuck in a traffic jam trying to get into Paris. I can't stop thinking about what's inside the trunk.-- pg 36, How I Stole Johnny Depp's Alien Girlfriend by Gary Ghislain
Curious. Very curious. Have yet to crack the spine on this unusual title, but one can't help be curious to see what this one will be like......

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other participants can add the book to their TBR.*

Until next time....happy reading!
What a very mixed bag. I'm really quite confused by the cover of Dread Of Night - somewhat 60's in style don't you think, this puts me more in mind of a movie poster that a book cover.
ReplyDeleteInteresting line up there. :)
ReplyDeleteHow I Stole Johnny Depp's Alien Girlfriend - What an interesting title! :D The cover and the teaser for Dread of Night are a bit a creepy.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the first one.
ReplyDeletePetty Witter: Ah yes, well variety IS the spice of life. ^_^ Agreed on the cover....the drawings inside are of the same style. Remind me of inkblots.
ReplyDeleteMichelle: I aim to please...or confuse. Take your pick. LOL. ^_^
Misha: I know, right? Down right curious. As for the creepy one, it certainly has its moments.
Juju: I thought you might. ^_^
