Good afternoon (or whatever time it is where you are), everyone!
Welcome to another installment of Taste Testing Tuesdays here at Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers! Taste Testing Tuesdays was inspired by 'Teaser Tuesdays', a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.
On the menu this week...DARWIN'S CHILDREN by Natasha Larry...and the e-pages are dwindling fast! Today we have a special TWO-FOR-ONE teaser! I happened to be on Twitter when writing this post and so I asked for a number between 1 and 260 (the number of pages in the ebook)...my tweeps did not disappoint. The first responses came at pretty much the same time, so I'm including a sentence or two from both! Ready for a taste? Here goes.
---------------------------------------------------
First teaser page chosen by teresasreading ....
She had so many questions, but could only manage to ask one. "What should I do?"John sighed for the third time. "Trust your intuition. It's one of your gifts. But most importantly, remember they can't force anything on anyone..."-- pg 58
This one can be seriously perplexing...especially with what all is going on. Can't reveal the secret (hence the cut on the quote there) but suffice it to say powers are at work...and not merely those of the lead characters....
Second teaser page chosen by AudioBookFans ...
Jaycie's eyes darkened as soon as the question left Allison's lips. She would never understand girls that whined about their parents reading their diaries. Not when she had to deal with crap like this!"Are you serious?" Jaycie yelled, her voice rising an octave. "Do you know how infuriating it is living with someone that can hear your thoughts, and someone else with freakishly enhanced hearing?"-- pg 73
I remember this one..LOL. It's after a somewhat private conversation with one particular boy that sparks (as well as other things) seem to be flying with. Tisk tisk Allison. Eavesdropping is SO not cool. *-*

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other participants can add the book to their TBR.*

Until next time....happy reading!
That is so true about intuition.
ReplyDeletehaha! Love these, especially the second one.
