Good morning (or whatever time it is where you are), everyone!
Welcome to another installment of Taste Testing Tuesdays here at Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers! Taste Testing Tuesdays was inspired by 'Teaser Tuesdays', a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.
On the menu this week...a book I've only just begun but I'm finding curious nonetheless. Ready for a taste? Here it comes....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Something make me turn. In the dark at the back of the tunnel.I strain my eyes, heart beating hard in my chest. I aint expecting it. Aint expecting nothing to be in here scratching in the dark.-- pg 158, After the Snow by S.D. Crockett (ARC)
There's a small example of the narrator's voice....a young child possibly of color that hasn't had any formal schooling or proper friends to be around due to circumstances that were out of his control long before he was born. It's a new Ice Age this book proposes complete with the severe decrease in human population and young Willo (the boy speaking/thinking above) has just become even lonelier when he finds himself mysteriously alone....at least at the part I'm at in the book. We shall see where it leads.... *follows tracks in the snow*
This book is set to release March 27th, 2012 from Feiwel and Friends, an imprint of Macmillan.
Until next time....happy reading!
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
