Good morning (or whatever time it is where you are), everyone!
Welcome to another installment of Taste Testing Tuesdays here at Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers! Taste Testing Tuesdays was inspired by 'Teaser Tuesdays', a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.
On the menu this week...a sequel that I am quickly devouring, and not just because part of the story deals in chocolate. Ready for a taste? Here we go!

Natty and I rode the bus down to the market at Union Square. You could purchase or trade for just about anything there. Toilet paper or T-shirts. Turnips or Tolstoy. Things that start with T and every other letter of the alphabet. As usual, it was a madhouse. Tables and tents everywhere. Every possible space was filled with a human being, and all those human beings wanted and they wanted now.-- pg 23
Okay, so not THE most exciting scene to have randomly selected but it DOES give you a glimpse at the easy flow of the writing and how the world of "want" we live in is represented fully. Also, this scene sets the stage for an impromptu reunion, no matter how brief. Curious? Check out book one (All These Things I've Done) while we wait for this one to hit stores on September 18th! Feeling a little claustrophobic just reading it though...*shudders*

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
*Grab your current read
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

O I love the setting it sets. Great teaser.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds good!
ReplyDeleteInteresting excerpt, but I'm more curious on the part that deals with chocolate!
ReplyDeleteNot exciting, but definitely a great glimpse into her writing style! I've actually got my hubby hooked on this series believe it or not. He's already read both the first and second books. :o)
ReplyDeleteGreat teaser!
