Hi there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers...the site that proves its name every day of the bookish week. Today, perhaps even more so than usual...
What's that? HOW will today differ from any other day? Well, you can count on it being bookish, that's for sure, but the surprise part of it comes in the fact that not only are we hosting ONE blog tour today, but TWO! What can I say? Two titles came along that I simply couldn't say no to, and I'm betting that most of YOU won't be able to say no to them either. Shall we get this party started, or what? Okay, smarty pants..."or what" was not an actual choice there. Silly fellow readers. *shakes head* Without further ado, I would like to introduce you today's first blog tour guest....
Party one stars a Children's Picture Book selection making its way through the blogosphere just in the nick of time. How so? Well, Monday just so happens to have been National Penguin Awareness Day and seeing as how our first selection stars those flightless birds of wonder, I thought it only appropriate that we find out the reason for their selection from all the other critters out there, straight from the author herself. Sound like a plan? Great....more on that in a second. First, make way for today's first blog star guest courtesy of the fab folks at Blue Slip Media....

This is the adorable story of one Mama penguin and her growing brood of little ones. Her work week is filled with nurturing these little guys and gals, schooling them in the ways of the penguin. From swimming to fishing, preening to sliding, and every thing in between, they are getting all of lives little lessons from their number one fan...Mama. But what's a Mama to do when the learning process is over and they no longer need her for every little thing? *tear* No need to fret. No need to cry. Dry your eyes my sensitive readers, for these baby penguins know just what to say to bring a smile to both your and Mama's day.
I gotta say, it's simple and sweet but definitely a treat. The stark pages allow you to focus on the images and appreciate that sometimes less really is more. My favorite little penguin doesn't even have a starring role per se in the story, but left an impression nonetheless....it's the little guy/gal playing with the top hat. Too cute! The limited words let the story's message be understood by even the littlest of folks and will bring a tear of joy to older reader's eyes. There's even an interactive aspect to the book that let's readers act out the lessons the baby penguins are learning along the way, something I can totally see working in a daycare or toddler reading session.
In conclusion, a wonderful way to share National Penguin Awareness Day today and every day, with a message that's good for the tall and the small. Special thanks to Blue Slip Media for the chance to bring this tour to all of you. (THANKS!) For more information on this title as well as their future promotions, be sure to stop by their official site. This being a blog tour and all, there are other stops along the way before all is said and done. Be sure to check out yesterday's stop over at Just a Little Creativity...and tomorrow's stop at Geo Librarian. Oh now let's get back to that question I had....
So I wondered and then supposed my question to the author and low and behold, we have an answer! Ready? Set? Read!
My burning question...
What do you love MOST about penguins?
The author's exhilarating answer....
It's a short answer, but the best answer I can give is this. What I love most about penguins is that they maintain their dignity under even the most ridiculous circumstances.
This montage captures exactly what I'm talking about...
