Hi there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.
Tonight, we're bringing you another late night reveal. Why you ask? Well for starters, my day has been SUPER long, but for finishers, they always say the stars come out at night, right? Right! Today's featured starlet, or should I say barklet, is certainly deserving of the spotlight and a little help from the heavenly bodies above would do anybody good. So, if you're ready for a little hobnobbing with the superstars, of both two and four legged varieties, please join me for today's book of choice...

This is the story of how one pampered pup came to be a Hollywood star. Minnie is a sweetheart of a dog. Just the right size to go pretty much anywhere and with a gentle, delightful attitude that suits her well. With better manners than some humans, Minnie gets ready to go stateside with her owner, Françoise (a darling little girl with a much spunk as Minnie), travel to tinsel town with her mother on a special mission. It seems dear old mom is a fashion designer and her latest creation is destined for the silver screen. It's a big to do that needs to go well or the repercussions could be felt throughout the family....not to worry. Minnie knows how to put her best paw forward...and it might even land her an unexpected role.
My first thought when I read the email on this one was...I had no idea Danielle Steel wrote Children's Picture Books. Yep. Color me clueless...but excited too. Though my first adventure with Minnie, I found her and her human companions to be delightful. The tale was interesting enough without becoming ensnared in the wary woods of wordiness...which makes it an easy story time pick for summer reading. The illustrations are colorful and clearly covey the moods of our characters as well as the life in each scene. My favorite part would have to be the combination of drawings and photography. The golden sequin dress that is making its camera debut looks as though it was plucked right off the hangar and added to the book. It shimmers without glitter, shines without added light, and makes for one beautiful dress...that fits ALL sizes.
All in all, a wonderful read fit for all ages. I'm certain the first adventure introduces Minnie in all he glory, but stepping into the series from here is certainly not a bad view.
