HI there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.

So, the time you see this post going live is exactly the time I finished typing it (today, at least).  Yep.  I pretty much did a marathon read in-between running errands and other chores yesterday of the two books I'll be featuring today.  Why didn't I have them read sooner?  Well, my reading schedule usually runs pretty close to the wire (so many books, so little time, and so little will power to say no!), but I maybe-sorta-kinda snuck two OTHER titles in for a read that I was dying to get to before the holiday, thus the time crunch.  Do I regret my actions?  No!  I only regret that I haven't figured out that formula for creating an unlimited amount of reading time...yet.  *wink*  Now that I've explained that, let's get to the first post of the day...

Leading us into the day, we've a TLC Book Tour starring a Contemporary Romance book from none other than Sarah Morgan.  Name ring a jingle bell or two?  It should!  She's the creative mind behind the WONDERFUL "Love in Manhattan..." series, both previous releases of which have been featured right here on my site....also both of which I adored!  The series introduced readers to the NYC gal pal trio of Paige, Frankie, and Eva.  Book one had us falling in love right alongside Paige, with book two matching up hard to satisfy Frankie.  Book three, aka today's pick, is all about dire hard romantic Eva.  Ladies and gents, but mostly ladies, join me as we see how well two opposing genres given human form mesh in real life with today's blog tour guest and book of choice...

About the book...
It will take a Christmas miracle for two very different souls to find each other in this perfectly festive fairy tale of New York!

Hopeless romantic Eva Jordan loves everything about Christmas. She might be spending the holidays alone this year, but when she's given an opportunity to house-sit a spectacular penthouse on Fifth Avenue, she leaps at the chance. What better place to celebrate than in snow-kissed Manhattan? What she didn't expect was to find the penthouse still occupied by its gorgeous—and mysterious—owner.

Bestselling crime writer Lucas Blade is having the nightmare before Christmas. With a deadline and the anniversary of his wife's death looming, he's isolated himself in his penthouse with only his grief for company. He wants no interruptions, no decorations and he certainly doesn't appreciate being distracted by his beautiful, bubbly new housekeeper. But when the blizzard of the century leaves Eva snowbound in his apartment, Lucas starts to open up to the magic she brings…This Christmas, is Lucas finally ready to trust that happily-ever-afters do exist?

While Paige's story was moy caliente, and Frankie's was all about discovery, Eva was one character whose story I was truly waiting on.  This installment of the series is all about Eva.

Eva's one of those characters you can't help but love for her honesty, pure heart, way with words (aka lack of filter, but in a good way), and rosy outlook on life.  Despite what she may think from time to time, she really lives her grandmother's words...be the sunshine, not the rain.  Our hopeless romantic has been tasked with playing decorator turned muse to a self-secluded writer...of horror/crime fiction.  Umm, is anyone else seeing a problem here?  Eva's idea of horror is accidentally treading on a spider in her apartment (she's a vegetarian, and kind to animals of all varieties!); Lucas Blade, the writer and potential love connection in question, writes books that keep Frankie awake...and she's got a pretty dark mind from time to time.  Not exactly seeing the love connection?   I hear you, but once the meet-cute of awkward proportions happens...you'll be more inclined to believe.  Now, if only Lucas can get past his own baggage (which admittedly is partially warranted but not to the degree he's packed those bags) to see the Christmas gift that's been delivered to his doorstep with no expectations attached, but a whole lot of love to give.

The story is exactly what we've come to expect from this author....good, mostly clean  (hey, a girl is entitled to a little naughtiness) fun with whit, humor, heart, and snark. With characters you care about, and all the feels radiating off the page, you can't go wrong with any book in this series.  It felt perfect to be reading this title at this time of year as it transported me away from our lukewarm Christmas to the snowy streets and parks of New York.  I could see the snow piling up outside the windows, feel the nip in the air as Eva built the snowman in the park, and revel in the love from family, friends, and potential significant others.

Overall, it was a grand time in the city and a wonderful addition to a series already dear to my heart.  It was great to get to know Eva a little more and did my heart well to see her figure out a road to her happily-ever-after. Recommended for adult Contemporary Romance fans this holiday season, or any time of year, to warm up your chilly nights.
