Hi there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.
So, here we are with another Storybook Sunday post. This time around though, it's not your average read. How so? Well, it has some very specific reading instructions that must be followed in order to get the most out of the story. Are YOU up to the challenge? Well then, let's do this! Ready or not, here comes today's book of choice...
*To be read as though you have the worst cold ever...
by
Liza Garton Scanlon & Audrey Vernick
Illustrated by
Matthew Cordell

Disney - Hyperion
You know how when you have a cold absolutely nothing seems to come out right? No, I'm not talking about the phlegm or nose diamonds that appear in your tissue; I mean the words coming out of your mouth. When you're stuffed up, everything you say gets misconstrued, bent out of shape, and otherwise mistaken for something it really isn't, and while frustrating, it can also provide for some pretty funny reading. So, if you've got a cold now, GREAT! You'll know exactly what our little leading man is going through....if not, fake it til you make it, but only while reading the book as it so helpfully instructs you to do. *wink*
Little Louie is sick and all he wants is Bob. Who wouldn't? He's the adorable, endearing, and drooling critter to his left (your right) on the cover above. He could easily make Louie fell all better....HOWEVER, even though Bob is one fantastic beast, what Louie REALLY wants is his MOM. Now, say it with me, BOB...MOM. Without congestion, it's a breeze, but add in the nasal blockages this kiddo has and yeah, it's easy to see how the exact opposite of whomever he calls appears at his side each time. The good news, he's got a great support system going here with both at his beck and call so to speak; the bad news, no one likes having a cold...but with a little luck and some help from BOB and "BOB", he'll be on the road to recovery in no time.
Recommended for readers of all ages and the perfect addition to any "get well soon" plan. The part of your heart the story doesn't capture, the illustrations surely will.
