STORYBOOK SUNDAY: A Chip Off the Old Block by Jody Jensen Shaffer

HI guys and gals!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.

We're celebrating another day of bookish fun with Storybook Sunday! For those not up to speed on the post, I read a lot of great storybooks and thought, why not give them their own day in the sun. Hence, Storybook Sunday! Feel free to join the fun and create a post on your own site with the same name. I'd love to see any linked up in the comments! Anywho...back to the matter at hand.

Today, we're discovering a great new storybook that's about to hit shelves THIS TUESDAY via Nancy Paulsen Books.  It's the perfect addition to your packing list for the upcoming road trip season.  You know, those family car trips across these wide and varied United States of America...seeing the natural wonders of the world, and feeling just a wee less in stature as we gaze upon things that have been here long before us and will continue to be long after.  Yeah, if YOU feel that way, imagine how a little rock would feel...and that's just what we're gonna do!  Ladies and gents, may I present today's storybook of choice...

A surprising source of edutainment, this story takes us on a journey with Chip (the happy little fellow pictured above) across these united states.  Along the way, we meet his relatives (some are pretty darn impressive too!), and learn about rock types and formations, but perhaps more importantly, we are reminded that even the smallest of us has a BIG role to play in this life.  It may not be apparent at first, and it may not even be the one we envision for ourselves, but we are all destined to make our mark on this world...or even fill a void we were unaware of previously.  *wink wink*
