HI there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.
I know, I know...it's FRIDAY...and I've already done a post for today, but guess what? I just couldn't leave you at the brink of another weekend without sharing one of my latest reads! It's the third in a series from author Meredith Schorr (the first two of which were also featured right here and here) and while it fits nicely into the Contemporary Fiction and Chick Lit genres don't think the characters or story are lacking because let me tell you now (*finger snaps*), they've both got a lot of spark! Ready, set, let's get this party rolling down the aisle as we set our sights on today's book of choice...

About the book...
Sassy book blogger-turned-author, Kim Long, thought her life couldn’t get any pinker when she received a two-book publishing deal and a marriage proposal in the same night. If only she could drown out the conflicting opinions of her overzealous bridal party. If only everyone would adore her first book—or she’d take Nicholas’s advice and stop reading reviews. If only Nicholas’s past would remain there rather than threaten their future. The pressure is on and the clock is ticking. Will Kim ever write “The End” on her sophomore novel? And, will she and Nicholas make it down the aisle to say those two precious words: “I do?” Put on your reading glasses, fill your champagne flute and prepare to laugh with (and sometimes at) Kim as she rewrites her happy ending until it’s worthy of five pink champagne flutes.

Here comes the bride?
Not if Kimmie can't get things under control!
Kimmie and friends (and frenemies!) are BACK and this time, she's having a crisis of faith. Now, we're not talking about the existence of the big guy upstairs, but it's pretty much just as crucial to her future happiness, to her well being, to her achieving her happily-ever-after. The faith she is missing is in HERSELF...to meet her deadline, mark all the wedding day planning things off her to do list, be there for her friends, and become the perfect soon-to-be-wife for Nicholas. That's A LOT to accomplish in so little time, especially when life keeps throwing monkey wrenchs of all varieties in her way. From stumbling through writer's block to a surprise pregnancy, feeling the pull of her outside job to coming to Nicholas' rescue, she's splitting herself more than an atom in a nuclear reactor...and the clock is relentlessly ticking down to BOTH her big days! Can she make it in time? Of course, she's Kimmie...but it's not going to be easy, and it's gonna take an intervention (at the very least!) that she won't soon forget.
I gotta admit, I've enjoyed the series thus far, and this was no exception. Kimmie is a great gal, kind hearted, always there for those that need her, and ready for anything, so it pained my heart to see her struggling so this time around. When the reviews were getting to her, her friends kept pulling her away from saying yes to the dress, and even NIcholas had her running to save his job, I couldn't help myself...I wanted to jump in and be like HEY YOU...SHE COULD USE A HAND TOO! Guess what though? A helping hand for her from me wasn't needed because the author wrote in a great supporting cast to help her through...eventually. I get it, they had stuff going on too, but come on....help a bridal girl out!
In the end, it was a great trip down the aisle, even if it never happens (hey, I'm not spoiling it for you!). You'll laugh, you'll gasp, you may even tear for a moment, and you'll definitely want to punch someone in the face (sorry, but I just don't like the girl!), but you'll do it all with a smile on your face because really, it's a fun story that could technically happen to anyone...so you there with the pen in your hand, get to cracking on that book! Who knows...maybe your HEA is just a few pages away. Be sure to check out the other books in the series for the whole Kimmie saga!

About the author...
A born-and-bred New Yorker, Meredith Schorr discovered her passion for writing when she began to enjoy drafting work-related emails way more than she was probably supposed to. After trying her hand penning children’s stories and blogging her personal experiences, Meredith found her calling writing chick lit and humorous women’s fiction. She secures much inspiration from her day job as a hardworking trademark paralegal and her still-single (but looking) status. Meredith is a loyal New York Yankees fan, an avid runner, and an unashamed television addict.
