About the book...
A haunted mansion. A community at risk. A group of teens with mysterious abilities. Strange sightings at the Payne mansion and baffling incidents in the countryside place the community of Kingston on edge. Did opening the portal to Paragon draw evil entities to Kingston? In facing this new threat, Matt Monroe soon realizes he is not the only one who has secret talents. Many of his companions have hidden abilities which are exposed as Matt and his friends confront a terrifying, ethereal foe.

Josh grumbled. “Who cares? So someone bought the old Payne estate or is renting it. What difference does it make?”

“It’s not that simple.” Frank’s right hand shook as he wiped sweat from his forehead.

“Think about it, Frank,” Kay said with a nervous tremor in her voice.  “Matty has to be confused. It’s just not possible. Maybe he didn’t hear the boy correctly.” Turning to Matt, she asked, almost pleading, “You must have
misunderstood the boy. He didn’t really say his name was Nathaniel Parker, did he?”

“What’s the big deal?” Josh asked.

Matt looked at his mother quizzically. “I didn’t misunderstand him. He said his name is Nathaniel Parker, and his little sister’s name is Annabelle.”

Kay slumped in the chair.

“Are you all right, Mom?” Josh jumped up to steady her.

“What’s the big deal?” Matt asked.

His dad cleared his throat nervously. “Those kids were teasing you. They can’t be the Parker children. As your mother said, it’s just not possible…because Nathaniel and Annabelle Parker are dead.”
