Happy BOOK BIRTHDAY to MINDY KIM AND THE YUMMY SEAWEED BUSINESS by Lyla Lee!

Hi guys and gals!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.

Happy BOOK BIRTHDAY to MINDY KIM by Lyla Lee, illustrated by Dung Ho - out now via Aladdin/ Simon Schuster Kids!

So #inmymailbox yesterday was a delightful little read I couldn't wait to dive into. It's the first book in the new MINDY KIM chapter book series (titled MINDY KIM AND THE YUMMY SEAWEED BUSINESS - 9781534440098) that brings diversity to the younger generation while also exploring all those firsts we enjoyed so much growing up... *says with absolutely no sarcasm...or smirks*

Seriously though, our girl Mindy deals with being the new girl in a new town at a new school, making new friends, trying new things, while her and her father are learning how to live their new lives... and she may even unexpected learn how to navigate the waters of getting into trouble, though I gotta say her business sense was sound!  :)

A varied storyline and charming black/white illustrations really bring this little gal to life and while definitely giving an adorable voice to the Korean- American community, the lessons she learns and wisdom gained are good for any/all souls young and young at heart.
