by
Lily Mae Walters

About the book...

It’s Charlie’s first day at high school, his blazer is too big and his shoes are too small, but that’s the least of his worries. He’s been missed off the class lists and is now enrolled in a new school called Brittle’s Academy with a magical and mysterious head teacher. But to stay at Brittle’s Charlie must pass one of the tests...otherwise he’ll be sent to Oblivion!

15 facts you need to know about magic! | Useless Daily: Facts ...

Remember the magic of reading Harry Potter for the first time?  Perhaps you're not a Potterhead (*gasp*) and you've another favorite magic filled story that brought you to a stand still as you took in all the detail in wonder and awe?  Whatever magic filled story is your bread and butter, this one is definitely going to make a case for itself to be added to your list!

It's definitely book one in the series, though we are assured that they will all be stand-alones from this point forward, and serves as an introduction for both the readers AND the characters to Brittle's Academy.  It's a strange school for certain, but a magnificent one nonetheless.  One knew something was up from the very start of the school day when Charlie spotted something, followed by someone, suspicious that nary another quite noticed.  Then, as the assembly was breaking down into groups and he, along with several mates, were quite strangely not on anyone's list.  Following all this eyebrow raising activity, there's a poof of smoke and...well, the rest is either a dream amongst the clouds or quite the adventure...I'll let YOU decide!

I for one can't wait to check out what's in store for Charlie and his friends in the coming days.  I mean, it's not every day your closest friend poofs to oblivion, you save a fellow classmate from certain death, and get pretty much hand selected by the headmaster themselves for what's bound to be an exciting year!  See you next Thursday... *wink wink*
