RRR presents... Was It Good For You? by Kathryn Freeman - REVIEW!

An interesting question posed by today's title in the review spotlight, and it has an equally interesting answer. Ladies and gents, great to have you back as we welcome two site favorites, Rachel's Random Resources and author Kathryn Freeman as she tours her latest Romcom release that's ready and waiting for a reader like you! Don't believe me? Well then, let's get moving on today's post to see if we can't convince you...

Was It Good For You?

About the book...
If you’re not a ten on Sophie’s spreadsheet, you’re never getting her between the bedsheets…

No aspect of Sophie’s life goes unrecorded in her Excel spreadsheets, so when she accidentally sends it to her entire contact list 9 of just her best friend, Sophie has a lot of uncomfortable explaining to do.

First on the list? Dr Michael Adams. After a disastrous first date, Michael scored a ‘3’ on Sophie’s ‘love life’ tab, but when she shows up to apologise for sharing his result with the world, he issues an unexpected challenge: ten dates to prove that love can’t be calculated by an equation or contained by boxes on a spreadsheet.

Sophie isn’t someone who’s used to thinking outside the digital box, but there’s something about Michael that makes her want to take a chance…

Rating your dates for compatability, looks, sense of humor, timing, and using the average of the scores attained to decide if another date is worth your time. Sound callous? Clinical? Maybe not as much in today's world as it would have a few years back, what with all the dating apps and what-not, but it certainly takes the heart out of the equation...

The logic behind her "crime" (word to the wise, don't send texts/emails in a hurry... especially with attachments!) totally makes sense! I mean, who wants to put all their effort into a relationship that's just not going to go anywhere? Especially in today's go go go world? But, then again, relationships aren't just based on cold hard facts because if they were, there would be no truth to the "love is blind" adage of old. There's something that doesn't factor into equations, and formulas, and that's a realization that hits hard after a few of the agreed to dates between these two, where the sparks can be felt, but not measured...at least outwardly. Seeing them grow together, fall apart, and (*spoiler, but not really*) make their way towards being together again was heartwarming. Watching the realization dawn on them both about the pros and cons of a spreadsheet organzied life was both cringe worthy and laugh out loud. Enjoying the HEA was all it was meant to be and more.

A great add to your end of summer reading list, or anytime you need a pick me up with a little laughter and a little love!

About author Kathryn Freeman...

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to write a book. It may have had something to do with my obsession with reading romance. Real life interfered and I headed off in a different direction – into the world of science, becoming a pharmacist before joining the pharmaceutical industry. I did end up writing, but it was about disease and medicines. Decades later, I’m finally doing what I always wanted to do.

With a husband who asks every Valentine's Day whether he has to buy a card (yes, he does), all the romance in my life is in my head. Then again, his unstinting support of my career change proves love isn't always about hearts and flowers - and heroes come in many disguises.
