The Sky's the Limit: Shoot for the Moon by Corinne Humphrey

Why hello there readers!
Happy Sunday to you.

So, how's your weekend going?
Good, I hope?
Lot's of fun and sun and good times, right?
Or perhaps you're more in my boat with a bit of trepidation, unease, and maybe a tinge of confusion....no worries, we've all been there before.  It's a tough place, I'll grant you that and one I'll be thoroughly glad to be rid of sooner as opposed to later.  HOWEVER, the uncomfortable situation to which I am referring actually made the arrival of this book all the more appropriate.  How so?  You'll see.  Ready for today's feature?  Here we go.  The book of choice for today is...

Lessons on Life from a Dog Named Rudy
by
Corinne Humphrey

Those of you that know me or follow my blog to some extent know that I am a total dog lover.  They are fur-babies of a most wondrous kind and offer their love and companionship no matter the time, no matter the place, no matter the situation.  Seriously, a day spent with a dog is a day well spent indeed.  But we're not here to talk about my love of dogs (well, not exactly at least), we're here to discuss Rudy and the wonderful message she bears.

Ah, but wait.  It's not ONE message.  It's MANY messages that Rudy delivers here.  There's a message of hope....a reminder to not lose faith in tomorrow.  There's a message of promise....a new day always brings a new chance to see things in a different way.  It's a message that despite the way things look right now, things can and will get back on track if we only learn to roll with the punches.  Ah Rudy....you have no idea how much your message hits home right now.  Combine all of that with the simple yet beautiful illustrations, and you'll find yourself carried away on Rudy's enthusiasm but wait!  Before you get carried away by his charms, you'll want to note this....Rudy speaks from experience.  That's right.  His life wasn't always kibbles and the bits....more like the bits with a lot less of the kibbles.  Despite his troubles, in the end he came out on top with an enduring spirit and a gentle heart....something we can all learn a thing or two from.

So whether you are looking for a wonderful picture book to share with the young readers in your life (because let's face it, who doesn't like a book featuring an adorable dog like Rudy?), a pick me up for yourself to aid in facing life's challenges, or a gift for someone else that needs that little boost of courage and faith....this book was made for you.  Young and old, rich and poor, happy and sad, Rudy will bring a smile to your face, a tear to your eye and a glow to your heart.  Rudy's adventure reached published status April of this year, so it should be available now at your favorite book outlet.  Special note:  Rudy's taking his message of a better tomorrow one step further....and donating 10% of the net proceeds from book sales to Friends of Animals Utah!  (Pretty cool pup, right?)
