Taste Testing Tuesdays (42)

Good morning (or whatever time it is where you are), everyone!
Welcome to another installment of Taste Testing Tuesdays here at Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers!  Taste Testing Tuesdays was inspired by 'Teaser Tuesdays', a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.
On the menu this week ... three samples:  one egalley, one dog centered true "tail" and one chilling soon-to-come YA novel.
Ready for a taste?

I wonder what people are suppose to talk about in elevators.  "Wouldn't it be funny if these Braille 'numbers' were really curse words?"  "You know, it has been statistically proven that ninety percent of 'door close' buttons don't really work."  "Hey, wanna order pizza from the emergency phone?"  "You know, most buildings don't have a thirteenth floor because the builders were superstitious.  But this building actually used to have a thirteenth floor.  It collapsed last year curing a storm."  Come to think of it, I might use that one.  -- pg 68, Carrie Pilby by Caren Lissner

You may recognize this one as a 'Roving Reader' post from some time ago.  When I saw it on NetGalley I thought...why not!  Great main character with brain power and quirks galore.  Will be interesting to see how it all turns out....

Curiousity led me to consider volunteer opportunities with working dogs -- dogs whose job descriptions included making sense of a changing enviroment and communicating that change to a human.  I wanted to try for that kind of connection.  -- pg 36, Scent of the Missing by Susannah Charleson

Now admit it, the cover certainly draws you in with the beautiful Golden Retriever, but the stories shared within will keep you reading.....

I was covered in blood when the police found me.
Head to toe:  in my hair, on my eyelashes, in the skin between my toes.  Dried so deep into my clothes they were taken away and I never saw them again.  -- pg 1, Low Red Moon by Ivy Devlin (ARC)

So this is my first novel dealing with werewolves since Twilight, but so far so good.  The opening there...as soon as I read it I was like...whoa.  Simply had to share....

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
*Grab your current read
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other participants can add the book to their TBR.*

Until next time....happy reading!
