Taste Testing Tuesdays (74)

Good morning (or whatever time it is where you are), everyone!
Welcome to another installment of Taste Testing Tuesdays here at Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers!  Taste Testing Tuesdays was inspired by 'Teaser Tuesdays', a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading
On the menu this week...a book swinging through on a blog tour later this month with a rather unique title/cover, in my opinion at least.  Ready for a taste?

A huge, towering Guan Yin, the Goddess of Compassion, looked down at me with lowered eyes.  Gigantic yet refined, her face exuded compassion.
-- pg 46, Song of the Silk Road by MingMei Yip (ARC)

Now that's a passage I could use right about now.  Sounds like this girl is going to be on one amazing journey.  But will she like what she finds?  *ponders*

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other participants can add the book to their TBR.*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Until next time....happy reading!

  1. The teaser further piqued my curiosity about Song of the Silk Road. I have it on my TBR. Are you liking it?

  2. Misha: Yes and no. The "no" is only due to more intimate scenes than I thought it might have (considering I'm only about 30+ pages into it) but I have a feeling the "yes" will over take it in the end. x-fingers crossed-x

  3. Absolutely she'll find what she's looking for and love it (well, you will at least)!

    This one is definitely interesting. I wasn't so sure about it and decided not to review it. So I'll be interested to see what you think of it in the end. :o)

  4. the1stdaughter: Yeah, I'm in the "not-so-sure" boat right now but that will be explained later. Still holding out hope.
