Taste Testing Tuesdays

Good morning (or whatever time it is where you are), everyone!
Welcome to another installment of Taste Testing Tuesdays here at Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers!  Taste Testing Tuesdays was inspired by 'Teaser Tuesdays', a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading

On the menu this week...a bookishly delightful title that pays homage to a late great author, whose work is recognizable round the world, in a new an interesting way.  This title ALSO happens to be stopping by on a blog tour currently and guess where they land tomorrow?  Yep, RIGHT HERE!
Ready for a taste of it today?
Here goes....

-------------------------------------------------

How did he know it to be half past eleven?  It is a fact that all intelligent animals (except for those poor , distractable humans) have an unerring sense of time.  They need no Roman numeral on an enameled clock face, no shadow on a sundial -- no slices of hours, slivers of minutes, splinters of seconds -- to inform them of a mystery carried deep within.
-- pg 42-43, The Chesire Cheese Cat, A Dickens of a Tale by Carmen Agra Deedy & Randall Wright
So if there was any guess at to what Dickens tale this pays tribute too, the opening lines of the book put that to rest post haste.  What are they?  Oh no...I'm not spoiling that for you now, maybe tomorrow though.  ^_^  Be sure to check out the rest of the blog tour going on NOW thanks to the great folks at Peachtree Publishers...and stop back by tomorrow for a look inside the book via yours truly.

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other participants can add the book to their TBR.*

Until next time....happy reading!

  1. O that's good!

PS Thanks for the name ideas. I adore Isabella but Mr. Whimsy axed it because of how popular it is right now. Will you believe it's the most popular baby name in the country? It's the Twilight power I tell ya ;)
