Hi there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.

Image result for hello august

July is gone, and August has arrived!  Can you believe there are only 146 days until Christmas at this point?  Eek!  Looks like I better get started on those gifts, but today's title just might fit the bill for a friend or two on my shopping list...and yours too!  Of course, waiting to give it to them until then, that would be the real torture.  Hmm, good thing there are TWO books in the series, so far...am I right?  ^-^  Anywho...let's get back to today's post.

So, let's see a show of hands for...
...Contemporary Romance fans?
...cowboys and cowgirls?
...a bit of sauciness and steaminess in your reading?
...a story that you know the outcome from the start (call it intuition) and yet it not only doesn't get old, but surprises you?

*counts hands*
Yep, that's what I thought.
A full house of fandom!

Well then, you're in good company because today's featured title just so happens to be a new-ish (arrived July 18, 2017) release via Pocket Books that's gonna fit the bill to a perfect "T".  So, grab your boots and your best kick butt clothes, we're heading out to Pine Oak, Texas to see what all the fuss is about! Today's book of choice is...

Kiss My Boots
Coming Home series, Book 2

About the book...
Hang on to your Stetsons this summer, because you’re in for one wild ride! Get lost in the second installment of New York Times bestselling author Harper Sloan’s Coming Home series, KISS MY BOOTS. In the second installment, the wildest Davis of them all is looking for love…maybe.

Quinn Davis prefers to live her life quietly. She’s the stereotypical tomboy with two overprotective big brothers who have always looked out for her. Of course, it doesn’t help that her heart has already been hardened when it comes to devilishly handsome cowboys with silver tongues. That is, until Tate Montgomery comes riding back into town. Their first meeting, however, is far from something out of a fairy tale and only further convinces Quinn that men aren’t worth her time.

Growing up, the one time Tate ever truly felt at home was during the long, sweltering summer months he spent at his gram and paw’s farm in Pine Oak, Texas. Now, Tate has returned to his childhood sanctuary seeking a fresh start—but if he’s being entirely honest, he’s not just back for the Wranglers and Stetsons. During those summers, Quinn was a friend turned young love who Tate lost when life threw him a curveball and he cut all ties to his past, but all it takes is one glance at the raven-haired beauty, who he did his best to forget, for him to realize just how much he’s been missing…

Can two people who have stopped believing in love take a chance to find it in each other again? Or will the pain of the past prove too great a hurdle to conquer?

KISS MY BOOTS is the second go-round in this Texas-set series filled with sizzle, heart, and plenty of cowboys!

Behind all the posturing, truck love, ten gallon hats, and twang, beats the heart of a story that's too good to miss!

With a spunky, take-no-prisoners leading lady, and a stand up leading gent that has always known what/who he wants despite the obstacles placed in his way, there's no way you can cheer for anyone but these two and all the potential they have. I admit it...I'm not for the cowboy thing.  Never saw the appeal, still don't...in general...but I gotta say, I'm loving Mr. Tate Montgomery!  A truer gent, you'll never find, and how he goes about trying to win her back...be still my heart, in more ways than one!  He speaks right to her "softer" side without overstepping her boundaries...not like those will last.  *smirk*...and gives her the time and support she needs to find her way in her own time.  I mean, once-upon-a-time, he did manage to break her heart, however unwillingly it was done.  The supporting characters make just as grand an impression, while reminding us that family is what you make of it and those you choose to include, not blood alone.

In the end, it was a fun read!  The perfect way to edge out your summer, prepare for the crisp autumn, or warm up those winter nights.  Speaking of which, I will warn you, it's a little heavy on the "together time", and more heated than steamy, so I'm definitely saying "adult readers only"... but it's definitely one you should break your "no cowboy boots" rule for.

  2. Cowboys rule and are extraordinary and give me hope. Cowgirls are brave and special. Love them both. They have high principles, and values which are important and meaningful.
