Good morning (or whatever time it is where you are), everyone!
Welcome to another installment of Taste Testing Tuesdays here at Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers! Taste Testing Tuesdays was inspired by 'Teaser Tuesdays', a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.
On the menu this week...a new to me read that I'm just starting out with that celebrates life AND reading. Join me for the journey?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I arrived home in time to dish out after-school snacks. Peanut butter on crackers, apple slices, apple juice. Chocolates given to me by my mother, shared now with the boys. More birthday kisses, and then I took myself away. I planted myself in my purple chair. I had just a few more chapters to go in 'The Elegance of the Hedgehog'.-- pg 36, Tolstoy and the Purple Chair: My Year of Magical Reading by Nina Sankovitch(review copy courtesy of Harper Perennial)
How fitting that this is the tease that appeared before my eyes seeing as how school just got back in session in my local area...not to mention the BOOK mention. Have any of you read it? I've heard good things, but not experienced the work myself. From the sound of it, this book may actually make my wish list grow...an unexpected but happy side effect. Go figure! ^_^
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
*Grab your current read
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Until next time....happy reading!
Juju: Agreed!
ah, the purple chair sounds very nice!
Hmmm, I like the purple chair. :) I need a nice big comfy chair to relax in. Thank you for the teaser.
Sounds like the perfect afternoon and sort of similar to how things are looking around here recently. ;o)
