Hi guys!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers...the place to be when you're feeling bookish and the need to read is overpowering. Yes, we love indulging those feelings here. ^_^
Today we are celebrating our love of books, but more specifically, PRINTED BOOKS. Ebooks are fine and dandy, I mean even I indulge in them from time to time and as long as you're reading, who am I to tell you to stop using your preferred format...but there is something different about the reading experience for me when a book is in its physical form. Holding the book, feeling its weight in your hands; the texture of the cover, the smoothness of the page. The beauty of its very presence in your "current reads" stack. Once read, you gain the ability to flip through the pages, scanning passages that captured your heart or remembering characters met and places visited like old friends in a photo album...plus the chance to visit it all again with a quick jaunt over to its new home on yourself bookcase. Ah yes, behold the power of the PRINTED BOOK. *sigh* With that in mind, as soon as I saw this giveaway hop open up, I knew I had to participate.
So, are you ready to hop? Here's the deal...
Printed Books Giveaway Hop
Hosted by I Am A Reader, Not A Writer
February 1st to 7th
Ebooks are becoming more and more popular but there are still many people who prefer printed books.
This hop features only printed books (no ebooks allowed).
I pondered.
I thought.
I ruminated.
I scrambled.
I rummaged through both my mind and my personal library as I tried to figure out just what book to give away. I mean, should I go classic or contemporary? Fiction or non? Kids or Adult? So many options, so many great titles that I could include. In the end, I was struck with an idea. Why not celebrate my love of PRINTED BOOKS with a title that's been in print for a considerable length of time and is cherished by many AND a book that celebrates readers and the books they love with a dash of humor? Why not indeed! So, my prize pack was born. Here's the scoop...
There will be ONE winner.
The winner may be US or International.
The winner's home determines the prize.
US winner will receive...
(1) paperback copy of To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
AND
(1) paperback copy of Judging a Book by Its Lover: A Field Guide to the Hearts and Minds of Readers Everywhere by Lauren Leto
AND
...a bookish surprise or two to go along with them. ^_^
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Pretty cool, right?
Now for our international friends, seeing as we know how international shipping rates can be, I can't send the same prize pack, but what I can do is offer them the chance to create their own.

International winner will receive...
A book or books of their choice up to $10 (US) from Book Depository!
Rules...because you knew there had to be some...

I love printed books because they look awesome on my bookshelf :D Also, love the new book smell ;)
Rafflecopter Name: Nara Lee
I have no access to books in other formats!
I love printed books because there is just something about the feel and scent of books that you can't get from electronics. I also like being able to thumb through a book to find my favorite parts, something you can't do with the e-versions.
I LOVE SO much the smell of books and I can carry them everywhere!
They are very special to me! It's mean so much when I received a book that I love so much!
Thank you so much for this amazing giveaway!
The smell of the books is just inviting all the time!
i love printed books because i like to see them on my box...i collected them...
Printed = the smell and feel of adventure.
Electronic = burning eyes and a cramping scroll finger. Not to mention words that can be taken away if Amazon so pleases.
Books happily collect dust until I wish to read them again, and again, and again.
Despite great pressure to get a kindle or similar, as you know I'm a Tree-book kind of person all the way so its great to read of this particular hop.
I love printed books because I can tell what other people are reading (I'm always curious when I see people in public reading!) and also show off what I'm reading. :) I feel like it's a silent communication between bookish people that doesn't happen with ebooks.
I love printed books because of the feel of the paper, and then they look so pretty on my shelves!
I love to touch and turn the pages, I love to see my reading progression by watching the bookmark position while the book is closed.
I love the differences between the books. They can be hardback or paperback, small or big... and I like them all.
Even if I also buy online I love to enter in a bookshop and feel like I was in a magical reign.
I love to collect books, to arrange them on my bookshelves, order them in my personal way and then just watch them everytime I want.
Last but not least I love the fact that my room smell and look like a library.
*Printed books feelings*
I love their smell,hahh
Beacause only when I turn the pages of a book I feel that I'm reading it, not when I push a button.
Don't get me wrong, I read ebooks, but even so, when I love a book I have to buy it in print.
Thank you for the giveaway :)
I just like to feel the weight of the book in my hand..and the smell of a new book is just something I find special:)
Thanks for the giveaway!
I love printed books because they never give you an error code, or need recharging! And they're shareable!
Okay - not so much into the smell like a lot of people are. What I love is holding the book in my hand and seeing all those words on the page. I love flipping those pages back and forth, to recapture something I just read or to maybe get a little sneak of what's to come. It's just not the same with an e-book. Thanks for be a part of this awesome hop!
I love the tangible feel of a book and the first thing I do when I get a book is, smell it.. It smells like heaven!... Thanks for this international giveaway!
I love paper books because, like you said, I love how they look on the shelf, ready to be picked up at any time!
For the past year or so, I've mostly used my Kobo and I miss having more 'real' books around
I love the feel and the covers and the weight of them. Thanks for the giveaway.
I prefer physical books to ebooks. I find them more inviting.
Oh, the fans on FB button didn't work for me, but I sent a friends request as Sarita Lopez anyways.
Thank you so much for the chance to participate

my Rafflecopter name: Lena
Real book is a real book and nothing can change that or even replace that!
And... I love boasting with books :D
I love printed books because I love the feeling of touching paper and I think each book have their own story !
For me it it easier to read printed books. Thanks!!!
I love printed books because I can pass on my favorites to all my friends and family.... Not so with my iPad!
I love a physical copy as:
1) i don't own an e-reader
2) you can flick back to your favourite parts
3) they smell nice :P
Because i feel like reading is the only thing that really shouldn't get even NEAR electronics and technology. Reading will always be better in print.
I love the feel of a book in my hands, and I like turning the pages. I prefer print books. Thanks for having the giveaway.
I have nothing against e-books, I just started to discover them, but there are some books that I love to much and I need to see them and touch them. I love browsing thru the pages and I love to see them all into one place.
There may be way to many reasons for why I love printed books. ^_^
The smell, the covers, the different papers, ah, all those feels that I don't have with ebooks. I pledge to read the printed word <3
Thanks for the giveaway xD
I love the texture of the paper, the look of the font and the cover, and even the smell. A true book lover will never totally get rid of the real thing. There is nothing more satisfying than a book shelf, loaded with books.
:o)
I love printed books because I love the way they smell and I just love having them physically on my shelves. I love turning the pages of them too.
I just love printed books..they just can't compare to ebooks. I love to trade books with girls at work or to shop for them at thrift stores!
The smell! The feel! The overflowing bookshelves!
I love the smell! And really, there's nothing better than holding a book in your hands and turning the pages.
There is nothing like holding a book in your hands and eagerly turning the pages as you get to the end. Or when you see the pages dwindling so you start trying to read a little slower and stretch the story out as long as you can.
I think the reason I love print books is because they have been with me since childhood. When I hold them, it's the tactile equivalent of comfort foods. There is always a reminder of reading in the front porch swing during summer, curling up with a good book during a blizzard, packing my "reading bag" for road trips, or lying on the beach with my new favorite novel.

It's all about how it feels in your hands. It feels so much better to hold a book, especially a brand new book or a well worked in book. I find reading them on my computer hurts my eyes shortly after starting.

I don't believe that when you buy ebooks, you really own that book. You can delete it anytime. But with print books, you can hold it, turn the pages, appreciate the cover and the other designs, smell it and I also love seeing my collection of books. They all look awesome together. :)
I like the feeling of holding a book! It makes reading more interesting! And also I love all the beautiful covers!
Because they are more convenient for me to read. :)
Printed books - whether it's old or new - will always be special for me because of its scent. And the sound of the pages turning is music to the ears.

There's nothing like the feel of a good paperback in your hands. To smell the paper. Feel the crisp pages if it's new or the worn pages of a favorite book.
I prefer printed books to ebooks because I can curl up with them. I like the feel of a book in m hands and the sight of it on my shelf...
I love prints because nothing beats the smell of a new book or the feel of your favorite book. They will be what stands the test of time. And I just don't feel the same excited anticipation of turning the page with a e-reader. And if you really love a book your not going to hand your kindle/nook/tablet etc. over to someone to borrow so they can experience the enjoyment you had with the book. Lets face it prints are better than digital. Period.
The smell and feel of the paper, and how they look on my shelf.
